Ok, I have a few questions. Just in the spirit of research, you know. Do his clothes come off? (What?) And if so does he have spare outfits? (has he got undies? Anything under the undies?) Have you been talking to him? Have you been kissing him? Have you given him a little cup of coffee yet? (I would recommend a lego cup) Have you been hunting round the house for appropriate accessories for him? (e.g. big guns, hard hats) Gosh, I really am very curious. Maybe I should get my own little Ianto.
His clothes do not come off, and I think if they did, I'd be disappointed with the cock, as his groin area seems slightly underrepresented. I haven`t done anything with him but make him sit in the bookcase on top of The Hite Report On Male Sexuality. He seems content with that.
Those are the bluest eyes I have ever ever seen. Clearly the colourist has been paying attention to Ianto in full on woobie-my-eyes-are-as-deep-and-wet-as-the-ocean mode.
Good point - which leads me to an interesting dilemna. Since I know I'm done with Torchwood, I'd like to own the S1 & S2 DVDs. But I'll be damned if I'm going to give any $ or apparent support (Oh, look at how many NEW watchers are buying the past season stuff)to our friends at the BBC.
Other than ebay, any ideas on how to get these without enriching BBC, RTD, et al?
Link through from Amazon and/or Amazon.uk to any parties selling them second-hand, and pick one(s) in very good or as-new condition.
That's how I'll be doing it for CoE because like a lot of people, I'll be damned if I'll give them full-price AND contribute to the sales figures for CoE.
To be fair, CoE is half the length of S1 and 2, minutewise. I'd have to know what a comparable 13 ep dvd goes for, as opposed to a comparable miniseries, or 6-ish episode series like Bonekickers.
Oi! this is a tough one. But as a point of comparison on Amazon.com US-
DVD for Planet of the Dead retailed for $14.98, reduced to $11.49 (24% price drop 1 week after US showing)
DVD for COE retailed for $29.98 reduced to $14.49 (50% price drop 3 weeks after showing)
S1 - retailed for $79.98, now reduced to $47.49 (40% price drop after 3 years - but don't know when the price first dropped).
And to be fair - some new and pre- releases are showing price reductions though more in the 20%-25% range.
But even at half the length, they really priced the CoE DVD to sell. Its had 26 days in the top 100 trending downwards. If it really was a runaway hit I think they would have priced it a bit higher and wouldn't be showing a 50% price drop within 3 weeks.
I also think the 5 hour mini-series format is harder to sell as a DVD. Its easy to find an hr to watch 1 TV episode; 2 hours for most movies, but one 5 hour story arc is a bit long.
I found an interesting article about BBC at Digital Spy. http://www.digitalspy.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1071894.
Unfortunately, its pre-COE - but I'd be interested if anyone can find the actual DVD sales figures.
I too want more pictures of the Ianto dolly! Someone on torch_wood posted a very funny fic they are doing with photos of all the dollies -- Jack, various Doctors, Master, Donna etc, and the next installment will feature Ianto!
Oh, I read your comment on RTD's latest interview at 'AfterElton'. At least, I think it was you, it was under the name 'WhyaWhelk'. Good for you! I'd comment there too, only I'm reluctant to register at yet another site.

If they'd gotten that unruly flip of hair at the nape of his neck as well, then I don't know what.
His lips should be more kissy-pink though. He has the pinkest lips I've ever seen on a guy.
