Ah-ha! Gareth says Jack and Ianto have probably been fucking all along.
*points told-you-so-finger at the world and his wife*
I KNEW IT! Don't even TRY and contradict me on that one anymore, srsly.

Also: New infos re. cock, Marsters compares GDLcock favourably to his own. Cock estimation amended by one half inch until further info on the Marsterscock is obtained.

The fucking from the very beginning bit.

You should pretty fucking psychic, if you ask me. Granted, it doesn't make it canon, but it makes it pretty damn justifiable. I wonder if GDL has ever been on LJ.

It was apparently said just after he had been asked about fanfiction and what he loved about the fics. His reply as that he loved the "filth" the best. :D So I'm thinking this is GDL's way to make people write more filthy fics for him to read....

oh and an interesting interview with Gareth shortly after filming the second season he has this to say on http://www.garethdavid-lloyd.co.uk/qa.html

"Q: Do you think Ianto wanted Jack from the start in Torchwood?
A: If he did, he didn't know it himself. Maybe the sense of something was always there, but it took some time for it to become clear in his mind. There's stuff in Episode Twelve of Season Two that gives a hint."

'Ah-ha! Gareth says Jack and Ianto have probably been fucking all along.'

Gareth took ANOTHER one of your ideas. You really should get payed as a writer for the show.

Finally catching up on the reviews. I think that I shall defer to your superior knowledge of all things Ianto from now on. That or...Hi Gareth!

I'm hoping we get some more complete video. The fan service stuff is cute, but I'm also interested in the discussion of his character and I really want to hear James' monologue on string theory and the existence of God. There are no words for how much I want to see that.

A+ on the outfits. The pants fit, the dodgy facial hair is gone, and he looks damn fine. I still want to see him with a full beard one of these days. The hipster look suits him.

I found his assertion that Marsters' TV tastes were pretentious utterly hilarious given his own tastes in music. He seems to have good taste in music, but still.

Is it just me, or are the sex jokes from GDL already old? It's one thing to act a bit 12 in a cute/ ironic way (the fisting monologue), but all these sex jokes and references just make me think he just not that sexually experienced. Certainly not sexually mature.

I haven't watched the video, but based on recaps, I tend to think he's playing to the audience, you know give them what he thinks the majority wants. I read one review in which an attendee stated she believed the flirtatious overtone between he and James Marsters was complete fanservice. And really, the way some people seem to melt over John Barrowman’s rather colorful way of sharing and expressing himself, who could blame Gareth for believing it's what the Jack/Ianto, Ianto fandom wants.

Yes, a definite improvement on his looks in general.

Yes, very astute. In fact, if you haven't, you should read this review of The Rift. The most detailed and objective I've seen. She's cool with linking.

I guess I'm trying to make a distinction between fan service (the fisting speech or the Captain Sandwich quip), and constantly making extremely lewd and bawdy jokes and comments (the Jack and Jill joke, the Summer Lovin' adlibs, Bam Bam - okay the last one is both). It's a fine line, but one that he doesn't seem to be able to see.

Although, given the knowledge that he has a new gf, who seems to think it's all pretty funny, this may not be servicing the fans so much as servicing his cock.

I've had this strange sort of rethinking about GDL lately. Not so long ago I didn't really follow him all that closely, so I was aware of things, but not in any depth. I think my initial impressions of him led me to think of him like a lot of my male friends, and past boyfriends. Fairly experienced and a bit laid back about sex and sexuality. I think the drama school thing threw me too. Most of the guys I've known who went that route would not be describable as sexually naive. And they all had some time with an older, experienced woman.

This recent information coming out has caused, and I'm sorry to use this again, but a bit of cognitive dissonance. It's not what I expected. Also, most of the guys I've known, even the not so experienced ones, were past this kind of behavior by 27. Or, at least, at the tail end of it. I was chalking up some of this to having just gotten out of a long term relationship and playing catch up.

I'm thinking he might not be the type to fuck his way through fandom. He really, really wants to be a bad boy. He tries so hard. He even tells us he's bad. I think he might try a groupie or two, but he'll end up picking the wrong ones, or just not get what he's looking for.

I hear what you're saying about the Education of GDL. I can't say the thought never crossed my mind, but...I'm not really interested in a student. Even in fantasy. I am also certain that the line to teach him a thing or two has already begun to form in the front row of his band's shows.

LOL. Yeah, I'm not actually talking so much on a personal level

Oh no! I didn't mean that you were. I was just looking for a cute phrase to describe the desire. I was just saying that that's not one of my kinks. I do firmly believe though, that that line has formed. Fo' realz.

I'm just still adjusting from seeing his actions and thinking PHWOAR, to seeing them and thinking AWWW. I saw that post from the younger woman, and the whole thing really just...exactly. But damn, he's pretty.

But about my post above, I really do find it interesting that he is so astute despite his immaturity. When he grow up he'll be quite the force to be reckoned with. All this has got me thinking about his unemployment too. No one will hire him? If you can act and show up on time there is always employment at some level. Either he needs a new agency, or his immaturity is getting the way. I hope that they teach the 'artist as a small business' model in the UK. He could use it. Especially since I could totally see him as the type to have success in America. Chibnall goes nuts over him for a reason. He has the potential. He just has to capitalize on it.

No Er. That's a bastion of suck. His best bets are cable originals. They're quirky and critically acclaimed and right up his alley.

A guest spot on House or something similar would be good for him. I think they start in July too.

If they haven't even updated his online CV - or his headshot - he needs a new agent. What he really needs though, is to market himself. He is a small business and he needs to put down the beer and the bong and start working at getting work.

Sorry. I've actually had people still pull out ER in the recent past. Law and Order shouldn't be off the table though. Any of them. It's a great way to get noticed, and a right of passage for most US actors.

Considering how much attention he should be getting in the UK right now, and the people praising him are not at the bottom of the barrel, I can't believe his agency isn't capitalizing on this. Think of the commissions.

He is ripe for America. I've seen a lot of UK actors who aren't (Ioan Gruffudd, I am looking at you.), but he is. If he could master some sort of nondescript accent...dude. He could be A List if he tried. Totally Sean Penn/ Christian Bale quirky A list type. He's just got that attitude. He fits here.

The thing is, I don't know if he is aiming high enough. He needs to reach for A list to even get there. Even if all he wants is the damn farmhouse in bumfuck Wales, he needs money and free time to do that. Aiming high in his career will get him that.

God, get that boy on House for sure, or some damn HBO show.

He needs a mentor. A mentor who will kick his ass and tell him unpleasant truths.

The thing is, I don't know if he is aiming high enough. He needs to reach for A list

*nodnod*

He needs a small-to-medium but interesting role in a good and noticable movie; a large and interesting role in another series; a lead in a tv movie. Something. Get out there, boy. Be the pride of Wales. Play your cards right and you can keep your Aunty in the splendor she deserves.

She died last week. :(

Oh no! :-( Poor Gareth. I'm sorry I was flippant-- I didn't know. (How did you know?)

I remember coming across his agent's site a while back and being taken aback by the WTFery. Suffocating Beeb contract or no, that's no way to advertise your wares.

Oh, no tan please! His skin is perrrrrrfect. <3 Less beer for sure, for more reasons than one. I realize that "drunkard" is #2 on his list, but it'll catch up with him. Though at his age I was a pretty dedicated drunkard myself, and having myself a time.

I believe the non-pudge reports. His suits are not cut for pudge. They're pretty unforgiving.

Is it wrong that I want to see him on House just to see him in lab whites? You know, I wanted to love that show, but somehow I just can't.

Never heard of Burn Notice...

Ah, I understand. I have a freckles-on-fishbelly Scottish complexion, and a day in the sun does wonders. I thought you meant a full-on tan, which God forbid.

Bruce Campbell! :-D I'd be lyin' if I said the thought of Gareth and Bruce in the same show didn't amuse the heck outta me.
