Yeah, James Moran, I'm yawning as I type this. You're really into kiddie snuff, aren't you? Seriously, dude, it's not that entertaining. Did you see me predicting little-girl-gets-dismembered-before-your-eyes there yesterday? Yawn.

The acting's good, I'm loving crazy Joe adding another mentalist to his repertoire, and the aforementioned beer belly is still captivating. But the format's not working for me, it's too fucking short to get into, and so far it's been predictable as fuck. The foreshadowing's just a bit on the unsubtle side. I think it would have worked as a half-hour BBC3 experimental crime thriller, but cutting it into these tiny sections is just off-putting for some reason.

But yeah, Moran, you've got issues in the child-killing department. I'm disturbed by it, but not in the oh-your-story-affects-me-on-so-many-levels way, more in the I-don't-think-I'll-be-watching-your-stuff-again way. Sorry, man.

It's always hard to move away from that one trope that made you famous, I guess. q.v. Whedon still rolling out the waif-fu, even six years post-Buffy.

I find watching the previous episode just before the new episode helps with enabling me to get into the flow of things, although watching episode 3 again will be a bit of a challenge. Some people plan to watch the whole thing in one go on Friday.

I'll admit I'm only watching it because of Gareth, although I think Joe's doing a good job too. I'm just enjoying seeing Gareth at the forefront of something, instead of being in Barrowman's shadow.

""I think it would have worked as a half-hour BBC3 experimental crime thriller, but cutting it into these tiny sections is just off-putting for some reason."

An extra in Girl Number 9 told local reporters that they hoped to use this on-line drama as a pilot for a tv series. How serious they are about this, I don't know. Certainly James Moran has said that there could be a prequal to this story if enough people have been watching.

A prequel? I'd prefer this as a jumping off point for more stories with the two cops. Hmm...

Well James did say there could be a sequal to this as well (depending on the success of GN9) but we don't yet know what happens at the end of GN9 - whether Matherson survives etc - and we've been told that there's more twists to come, which could result in backstory.

But don't forget that Moran and Co have had to spend some of their own money on this project, so any kind of sequal/prequal will have to be thought about, it can't just be yet another cop show - there's more than enough of those on tv.

And yet, they never seem to tire of making them...and medical shows...and law shows...

Well you certainly know how I feel about children being tortured on TV. Actually I'm not quite sure what happened to girl #8, and frankly I don't want to know.

I didn't read anything about this before I watched but his daughter being girl #9 was so predictable. And where do you go with this in terms of a TV show? A prequel so we can find out what happened before the psycho got captured (with the added bonus attraction of seven more child killings).

I do like the type of character GDL is playing. I wouldn't mind a straight police drama with that type of lead. Kind of reminds me of Dennis Francz' Andy Sipowicz from NYPD Blue.

From what we can gather from twitter, Holly's mother could be dead, so Matherson could be a single parent.

It could come up in the next episode, Boylan does seem rather focused on Matheson and it might not be because Matherson led the investigation, James Moran might be more imaginative than that.

Or maybe not. :)

I wish! In the first episode Mathieson says he's willing to give a blowjob to the suspect if that'll make him confess. I really wish they had pursued that angle instead of this revolting shite.

The 'plot' involved a child getting dismembered? What the fuck is this fuckery? Is this supposed to be 'entertainment'? And I'm bloody tired of the same old psycho-kills-multiple-female-victims cliche. James 'Moron' -- I didn't have much respect for you after the cloying Captain's Blog and the fiasco of CoE, and now I have even less. You are just as much of a one-trick pony as RTD is.
