Wow, what a busy busy day at my eljay it's been. I'm in a right bitchy mood today, so may I just say that if you feel the need to bitch about me, don't do it your flocked journal, that's just silly, do it HERE! I want to share in the hate.

Some bitchworthy opinions I have:
1) I think John Barrowman is obnoxious. I don't hate the guy, I don't really actually have an opinion on him one way or the other, but if I had to veer in a certain direction, obnoxious would be that direction.
2) Gareth David-Lloyd, in season two of Torchwood, was a chubster. Chinless, beergutty tubbyboy. He's looking better now and even in season two of Torchwood I'd have fucked him silly, but yeah, he was a fatty.
3) Freema's a shit actress. I got defriended over that one. Any other takers?

GO ON, YOU KNOW YOU WANT TO.

This post was brought to you by my fucked up hormones and my SCREAMING CHILDREN.

I actually rather agree about JB's obnoxiousness. Of course he still cracks my shit up most of the time but I think he's just a tad too confident, really, because I get the sense that he never really stops to think that maybe he actually is not the most amazing, fantastic person that the world has ever spawned. Confidence is good but not if it makes you convinced that you don't actually have to improve your acting.

That was rather tame.

What are your thoughts on Eve Myles? RTD? or the character Gwen on Torchwood?

I agree with #1 a little. :)
I agree with #3 quite a bit. :)
I don't agree with #2 all that much :(

-though he was definately chubby in Doctor Who :)

Must admit I don't care much for Freema either, even though she's absolutely all over my favourite series of Who. I especially don't think she suits the tone of Torchwood.

... Sorry, I'm doing this wrong, aren't I?

It's ok, now you've (kind of) dissed Eve, I can really get on the train.

NEVER DO THAT. Etc.

Um...

1/ JB - I don't think he's remotely obnoxious but, having met him twice, I can easily see why a hatchet may look rather shiny. Is he loud and crude? Yeah, on occasion but I don't really get premeditation or malice from him. And, as Dion Fortune once said, I can forgive a lot to a character.

2/ GDL. Pork pies and beer. Yes. Duh. Lots of body image issue projection going on in this fandom. And a lot of others, both issues and fandoms.

3? Freema. Honestly, I never noticed her as an actress but, then again, I can't honestly say that I watch DW or TW for the acting.

Personal issues with you? I have on occasion wanted to tell you to shut up re: rants about US politics but, as was said back in the early days of my country, "we must all hang together or we shall most assuredly hang separately." Look at global markets to see the truth of that - we all get a say as everything affects us all now.

Short answer? Everybody lighten the fuck up.

I recall him saying somewhere, possibly on an episode commentary, that he doesn't read the scripts until just days before they shoot because he likes to be "surprised" by the episode, which means he doesn't has a lot of time to prep for it. He's outright said he mainly relies on the director's comments to guide his acting. And while I cannot claim to know how the relationship between actor and director should be, I don't think one is supposed to eschew personal preparation in favor of just letting the director call all the shots. With everything a director has to do I don't think he/she should have to take care of JB's acting for him.

ETA: LOL. I should probably fix "he doesn't has" but I like it so much that I'm leaving it there.

And yeah, his acting in general is kind of unshiny. There are some things he does well but when it comes to acting upset he tends to drop the ball and just stand there making strange faces. ("Cyberwoman" is an exception in which I for the most part actually think he did quite well. But "Adam" was fucking embarrassing to watch.)

I agree with you on all those points. Especially Eve's arse. Why couldn't I get an arse like that? Everyone else in my family got one but not me:(
Ah well....

Any opinions on next years mini series based on the set pics you've seen?

Rusty needs to tell Gareth that he'll have several sex scenes to do in every series of Torchwood from now on. Not only will they make Gareth keep his weight off, they'll give us endless pleasure whilst he's at it.

I thought the "WHAT HAVE THE DONE TO YOU?" line was kind of crap, I have to say. "Captain Jack Harkness" was another episode in which JB mostly hit the mark (though I was lamenting just the other day on how that episode could have been truly awesome with just a little tweaking to the storyline and acting).

LOL @ your other half.
But srsly how did he built a successful west end career with his lack of talent. Did he shag his way to the top?

1) He can be. That's part of why he's so funny to watch in con vids. If you're going to do fan service, why go half-way?

2) Yup. My favorite Hub Con quote is still Gareth saying: "Little pickers wear big knickers." I think he is well aware of his changing status (and what to do about it, if he so chooses).

3) Meh. DW and TW don't seem to lean too hard on stellar acting skills. (With notable exceptions, like GDL and CE, imo.)

About the politics: I almost jumped on this with a freedom of speech argument and then I thought: If she had made a pro-hate(racism, sexism etc) post I would have told her to shut up as well.
Does that make me a hypocrite?

Humm, I think you need more flouncing, and possibly more threatening to get some good wank going.....
I have uh...studied fandom_wank extensively, to bring you this opinion. Um, anyway.

I generally have a problem with stage-acting. Even ON A STAGE I find it pretty awkward, so on a screen it absolutely crashes and burns.
