As was pointed out on torch_wood today, he was already a MANWHORESPY in tonight's episode. Shagging Jack while underhandedly passing information to Gwen. Sneaky bastard.

So fascinating. He really is a big reason I love this show so much. Unravelling the mystery of who is Ianto Jones.

I really want to read Twilight Streets. Since it was written by one of the show's script editors, and there are already a few things in the book that are tying into the show, I wonder how much of the characterization is canon. I keep getting hung up on that "no one knows the real Ianto" thing.

Absolutely. Far and away my favorite character. So much going on there and so much yet to find out.

I love that. It shows me that Ianto is his own person regardless of what Jack thinks. Ianto must surely know that Gwen will screw it all up and Jack will find out but he does it anyway. There's a nice progression there. Ianto tries to talk to Jack reasonably and when Jack doesn't see the wisdom of Ianto's POV, Ianto goes behing Jack's back. I've been worried that being 'Jack's loyal soldier' might meant that Ianto would defend Jack even when he shouldn't, but this scene reassures me on that point.

It's also amazing that intercut with that is Ianto smileyness over the cheating at naked hide and seek. What a range my boy has. He is quite lovely. I am his slave, I must admit.

a package on her desk, I knew. God, he's so completely devious and awesome.

Well, okay, not the minute. For that entire scene I was all Ngh! wfsghsgjcasf! And rewound again to Gwen coming in. That time I actually heard the line.
