Fuck off, dude. That Gwen scene made Jack look really bad. And Gwen. In fact, every scene with Gwen made Gwen look pretty bad in my eyes. You love Rhys and want to marry him or you don't, Gwen, stop fucking about. Same goes for Jack, you want to fuck Ianto, fuck Ianto already, you obviously already have. You want to DATE Ianto, that's a different matter, you want to suddenly be domestic because Gwen's settling down and spoken for or are you serious about him? Stop fucking people around. BOTH OF YOU. • Tosh - Bless you Tosh, you're every internet fangirl rolled into one except for that bit where you want Owen, because seriously, we don't. Get over him, he's not all that good. But do keep bringing the slash and shipping the boys, you're marvellous at it. Tosh has totally watched Jack and Ianto do it on CCTV on more than one occasion, I bet she's set up a feed directly to her house. You go, girl.



• IANTO!!!! - Oh, goodness, EVERYONE WANTS TO DO YOU, and what's more you've finally picked up on this fact, yes? Good boy! Ianto was, once again, made of complete win this episode. Baffled-look-at-gun? WIN. Calling-a-taxi-while-the-rest-faff-about-like-children? WIN. Flustered-if-I-say-yes-will-you-go-away-date-face? WIN. Pissed-off-in-lift-but-totally-cool-with-being-propositioned-and-referred-to-as-eye-candy-attitude? WIN. Impending-death-stopwatch-glee? WIN. And seriously... Momentarily-quite-seriously-taking-into-consideration-the-possibility-of-having-an-orgy-with-the-team-and-Captain-John? Christ, dude, here, have Torchwood, fire the rest of them, take over the show, do whatever the hell you want. You win. I'm yours. I was totally right about you, now please, turn out to be a manwhorespy and I'll hunt you down and marry you. By force if necessary.



• Owen - I love it when you get shot. Get shot more, monkeyfeatures.



• Gwen - Yeah, well, the less said about you the better. Stop fucking Rhys around. Whore. And I don't even like Rhys!



• I am already sooo looking forward to the return of Captain John, he ruled. The poodle thing made me choke.




• Seriously, there were some things I didn't like about the episode, the DNA thing was another one of those Bad Skience copouts that NewWho seems very good at, and some of it was slightly TOO let's-take-the-piss-out-of-ourselves for comfort, but overall, that was a fucking ace episode. I only hope they can keep that up.

In conclusion? I LOVE MY BIG GAY SHOW. Needs more coats.

Exactly what I was thinking. I think, though, that Gwen has a tendency to want what she can't have; if her bitchy "no-one else will have me" (with the implication of "so I suppose Rhys will have to do, then") had been followed up with Jack proposing that she dump Rhys and they run away together, I don't think she would have known what to do with herself.

Yeah, I totally don't get what she meant by that "No-one else will have me" thing, it was just the weirdest thing to say, really. Thinking about it, I suppose it was an acknowledgement that no, Jack isn't going to propose anything of the sort, but I never got the impression that she wanted Jack to that extent. Jack's reaction baffled me as well, though, because I didn't really think he wanted her either.

I'm looking on the bright side, though, and I'm assuming that the scene was actually there to further Jack's relationship with Ianto, making him realise not so much that he's lost Gwen, because I don't really think he wanted her in the first place, but that what he's offering people on the relationship front isn't really all that great. After which Ianto puts the boot in by basically telling him to fuck off because he's not interested in being his fucktoy. Causing the whole date thing, which to Ianto, not having been privvy to Jack's conversation with Gwen, comes completely out of left field, but to Jack is an attempt to make a decision, choose who he wants to be with and offer them more than the occassional fuck over a desk.

I think that conversation was supposed to be Jack's wake-up call more than anything else, I just don't think it came across quite right. Again, as is so often the case with Torchwood, I feel Barrowman's l33t acting skillz may be to blame for that.

Maybe this all proves that S1 Jack was saving himself for the Doctor, and then realised that the Doctor would never cheat on the Master and decided to shag Team Torchwood instead?

I don't know, but again, I think Gwen's looking pretty bad here. As our point of view, everywoman person, she's failing badly and coming across as a bit of a whore. I don't understand why they keep doing this to her.

I'd like to think that what they're actually trying to tell us is that Jack's learned his lesson from the Doctor, who is to all intents and purposes, about as immortal as he is, or at least lives a very long time, and you can use that as an excuse to not get attached, like the Doctor does, and still end up hurting people, or you can just accept it, deal with it and throw yourself in there regardless, which is what I'm assuming he's attempting to do with Ianto. But that would mean Jack > Ten, in as much as he's decided to think more about the effect he has on people, and not string them along and use longevity as an excuse to do so. Which is a weird message, but that's what I'm getting.

They probably think it makes her Complex And Interesting. They did pretty much the same to Rose "Repeatedly Cheated On Mickey" Tyler, after all. Had Martha had a bf she'd probably have ended up the same. But then everyone in this 'verse is a bit slutty, up to and including the Doctor.

I ADORE every single reaction Ianto made to Capt. John. His face just speaks VOLUMES in this episode. His reaction to John flirting wirth Gwen, to John and Jack's final kiss, to the weapons removal scene, and yes, the orgy. Oh god.

OK, so I've been trying to "catch up" on RL posts by the awesome people I've friended because, well, they're awesome...
Anyway, so I found this entry and can I just say YOU are made of win! Besides the fact that we seem to have a very similar sense of humor, the whole bit on Ianto... OMG pure genius and I will help you hunt him down whenever you like. :)
