Minor triumphs today...

• Left Beckett alone in his room last night. He usually refuses to go to sleep without me in the room, and I haven't had the energy or the impetus to spend two weeks training that out of him. I officially have the energy and indeed the impetus now, what with a baby waiting for me downstairs, so we've started. He spent twenty minutes with his light on, reading books and intermittently shouting "MUMMY!! MUMMY!!" Then, lo and behold, he turned his light OFF. He called for me for another ten minutes and then all was quiet. I'm very proud of him. We have yet another sticker chart on the fridge in which he has officially earned his first sticker. And "no more stickers for poo", as he so succinctly put it.


• I took the bathroom tap apart because it was leaking a bit. I ended up with a handful of black goop and rubbery bits which obviously used to be a washer. I couldn't for the life of me work out where the washer had resided, until I realised it was actually about 1/3 of a washer, the other two thirds being hard plastic and obviously something to do with the tap's ability to turn. I MADE A NEW 1/3 WASHER with my own hands. Unfortunately, the tap now no longer turns. But it also does not leak, so there. I consider this a triumph nonetheless. I will not be defeated by plumbing, goddammit.


• Took Millie for her first checkup and she is officially "normal", except for the tracking and looking at things, in which area she is slightly advanced. 4.37 kilos, which means she's gained almost a kilo, nearly all of it, save 90ml a day, by virtue of the goodness of my boobs. I am smug about these sorts of things, because I have very little else to be smug about.


• I've lost 4 kilos since having her 5 weeks ago. Yay for me.

No dutchie here! Aussie woman foolish enough to marry dutch guy and move to Den haag from Melbourne. I'm 5 months preggie and looking for names, it's a girl!! We named our son Cosmo and want something simular for our girl. Milliway popped into our minds and I googled it and THIS my friend.....made me end up here! No worries!
