I thought JB was much smaller than Christopher Eccleston, and was commenting about this in regard to a fic when the author pointed out that they're of comparable height. I'm not clear in my mind how I got the impression he was much smaller than CE, although there's the bit in Boomtown where he talks to Mickey where I thought they were on the same eye level.

John looks very boyish next to Eccles, and GDL generally looks like the tiny infant he is, so this may have something to do with the impression they're littler than they are. Ianto's woobness must also contribute.
