tencrushI have random phrases in my head today. All this morning all I could hear was Stewie Griffin saying "Well, that's not going to cure her nymphomania, it's only going to exacerbate it" and also I could swear that I keep hearing Peter Griffin laughing in my head. Yah, I watched Family Guy last night, I'm trying to catch up with all the ones the other half has already watched on his PSP. ANYWAY, and yeah, bits from Ghostbusters because it was on the other day. Floating around my head.
I BOUGHT CHRISTMAS THINGS!! Lights mostly. I buy more and more Christmas things each year, because I want my house to look like the Griswold's house at Christmastime, it makes me feel warm and fuzzy in my tummy. When we moved here about five years ago, the houses were pretty bland, Christmas light-wise, but we went all out anyway, and slowly the neighbourhood is starting to try and compete. This makes me happy in my face, because I love jolly tacky Christmas shit. Christmas is a time to be as tacky as one can possibly imagine being. I used to do the polite thing and wait with the decorations until the 6th, after St. Nicholas, out of respect for the traditional Dutch holiday, but nobody else in the country seems to care anymore, so I'm going straight in on the 1st of December. Hooray! I'm all excited. Of course, the decorations come down on the 6th of January, and anyone whose decorations are still up after that time, gets a look of EXTREME DISAPPROVAL from me. And that look hurts, man. The Dutch aren't actually that fussed on the Twelfth Day thing, but I don't care. They still get my scorn.
