The ORAL PICSPAM, Part Two.

Following on from Part One, it is now time for part two!!
Maybe we'll learn something new and exciting in Part Two!!
Let's find out, shall we? Presenting Ten and His Mouth, second half-ish of Season Two:
The Idiot's Lantern features, of course, UNDISPUTED LICKING OF THINGS:

There's no possible argument about this one. That's Ten, Licking Something. Most definitely. Unambiguous.
I have a few things to say about this one, though. Well, one thing, really, which is that it's completely gratuitous. It's BAKELITE! Wow! Bakelite feels looks and smells like nothing else in the universe and to have to establish the fact that it is, indeed, bakelite, through use of the magick tongue is pushing it slightly. Plus: have you ever licked proper 1950's bakelite? Ewww. It was really brittle and porous in those days, and therefore had a tendency to absorb things from the air. So most 1950's bakelite tastes of fags, with an undertone of formaldehyde. Yuck. Silly boy.
Hey, look! The return of The Mouth As Third Hand!

With this amount of Oral Goodness, you'd almost think Idiot's Lantern was a good episode. Unfortunately, it wasn't.
Which is odd, because it also features Ten Eating Something:

Though I don't know what. If you do, do give me a shout.

He also has a drink but we can't see his mouth in this -or indeed in any- shot.

That makes me sad.
Moving on, then, to The Impossible Planet. NO ORAL ACTION. Again. Woe.
If I may, I will take the opportunity to point out that I believe The Impossible Planet to be the episode in which Tennant does his ActorQuirk of scratching the back of his neck more often than in any other:

And I haven't even counted, it's just a general Feeling I get. I am digressing from the oral action,. and that is because this two-parter is sadly lacking. The Satan Pit, you see, ALSO features NO ORAL ACTION whatsoever.
As if to make up for the lack of TenMouth/Object interaction in TIP/TSP, the second half of The Satan Pit seems to suddenly focus on Ten's Tongue, in situ, as it were:

Quite a lot, in fact:

But it's too little, too late, people!
But wait a moment? Are we on to something here? A two parter with NO ORAL? Wasn't RotC/AoS sadly bereft as well? Could we be sensing the beginnings of A Theory? We'll have to wait and see how this pans out. but we're keeping it in mind.
TIP/TSP serves as a frightening warning of Things To Come, as Love & Monsters also has NO ORAL.
Now this is due in part, of course, to the fact that it has very little Doctor.
It does, however have this:

That picture has NOTHING TO DO WITH ANYTHING WHATSOEVER, but my knickers kindly requested I put it in anyway. I am digressing again, I realise this. It's because I am so excited about what's coming next.
Fear Her!!!
BAD FANGIRL! Stop thinking about my mouth!!

He's mocking us in this picture, because he knows full well what he is about to put us through.
Which is, naturally, worth FAR MORE than one picture:

I think so anyway:

I stole them from Nos, by the way:

Because hers were the bestest:
And did the scene the most justice:

Well. That was nice. This is my favourite Ten Oral moment for many reasons, but mostly because it's so inappropriate and alien. It makes me smile, not just because of the fingerlicking goodness, but just because of its inherent Ten-ness. Bless him.
There is also more eating in Fear Her, but let's face it, it pales in comparison to what we have just experienced:

It's time for Army of Ghosts/Doomsday. Could our fledgeling Two-Parter Theory have any merit? Oh noes!
Sadly, yes, it does.
Ten does, however, kiss Jackie, which is a Very Good Thing:

And then he wipes his mouth:

But neither of those things really count, as there was no tongue involved. I only count kissing if there's a tongue involved.
Very early on in this two-parter, Ten seems to realise that he is not going to be getting any on the oral front. This makes him kind of sad. And so he does this:

Now, we've seen him putting his fingers in his mouth before, but there was always something on them, be it marmalade, blood, gravies, whatever. These, however, if you'll notice, are naked fingers in Ten's mouth. Which is kind of like the orally fixated equivalent of having a wank. And so we have to conclude that Ten has, in fact, resigned himself to the accuracy of the two-parter theory, and has decided to have a wank before all the undoubtedly exciting stuff starts happening. Just a quick one. IN FRONT OF ROSE AND JACKIE AS WELL. Disgusting. (Oh, yeah, later he kisses Mickey on the head, but there's not a good cap of that anywhere and it doesn't really count anyways, because, again, no tongue.)
And that's yer lot. So...what have we actually learned?
Well:
I'll turn this into a PowerPoint presentation soon, I promise.

Well:
- Two-parters, on the whole, lack TenMouth/Object interaction. This is a disturbing trend, which I'm hoping doesn't continue into Season Three.
- Ten has only ever actually licked three things, a bakelite radio, a wall and his fingers (albeit on several occasions)
- Ten uses his mouth to carry the Sonic around. Three whole times he's done this, it has seen more TenMouth interaction than any other person or object in existence. Which makes the Sonic his most loved thing in the whole universe ever, surely?
- School Reunion is a bit slutty.
- That's about it.
I'll turn this into a PowerPoint presentation soon, I promise.

Date: 2006-11-24 01:39 pm (UTC)Why did he never lick Rose? She was there all the time. I suggest it is because she tastes of make-up? That is my contribution to ur skience.

Date: 2006-11-24 01:42 pm (UTC)Your make-up theory makes sense, yes. I, personally, think it is because she smells of chips.

Date: 2006-11-24 02:40 pm (UTC)Nine liked chips, but do we have any Actual Proof that Ten does? (He wasn't keen in SR, but that was the oil, OR WAS IT?)
Maybe, you see, THAT IS WHERE IT ALL WENT WRONG with Ten and Rose.

If they are Theories and Stuff, does this mean you're brainsharing with Rusty? Will there be more oral fixation in s3?e
Tell us o Wise one.

Date: 2006-11-24 02:38 pm (UTC)They have Torchwood now for their innuendo and sextasticness. Ten's mouth will be vastly underutilised.
Whee! I have just made my first official S3 prediction! Watch this space.
