Dirk Anger is my new hero. dune_drd have you read Nextwave? It is the stupidest, silliest thing I have ever come across. Stupid. It's like Agents of SHIELD crackfic, officially endorsed by Marvel.

I believe it may be the best thing ever. I can't decide what the &%$# stands for in Captain &%$#. But it's nice to know Cap shoved a bar of soap into his mouth, whatever it is.

ETA: Just finished it, and that surely was the best thing ever. The Captain, Captain &%$#, is the best superhero that never was.

Am now reading Brubaker Cap. Falcon just called someone 'asshat.' Thank you, Brubaker, my life is now complete.

Would you recommend Nextwave to a comic newbie?

It's really stupid, if you have a vague knowledge of Cap, Fury and the history of crappy comic book characters called Captain Something, it's quite funny, and it's pretty much standalone, there's a collection of 12 comics, one story, no previous knowledge of characters or plot required. So yeah.

The most daunting thing about reading comics is that there are so many, which makes the reading order hard to figure out, but there are handy reading order lists for every character and storyline on the internet. I pretty much only buy secondhand trade paperbacks, and even those have confusing names and volume numbers sometimes.

I AM SO SORRY - I am still mostly in denial about it, I disagree with a lot of Tony Stark's characterization throughout, but everything that comes afterwards is even more of a kick in the groin D:
