Exactly my reaction! I thought you had better taste than that, Bob. The contrast with Pete's mom devastating remark about Pete being unloveable was glaring.

Bob has great taste in shorts, why would he go for balding, always slightly clammy-looking Pete? Unless this is all still part of some manwhorespy/psychokiller masterplan of Bob's that we have yet to become aware of.

I noticed in the costuming a few episodes back that Pete seems to be the one character whose clothes never fit quite right, like a kid wearing his Dad's suit. I wonder if this is significant somehow, Mad Men costuming usually is.
