So Clara, yeah? (I love her, btw. Like LOVE HER. Maybe sexually. Let's get that out of the way, yeah? Anyway... onwards...)

Anyway, Clara, yes... she's obviously been made by someone ("You invented fish... I dislike swimming alone") specifically for the Doctor, she's like a mirror image of him, the same in many ways and yet the opposite in others ("It's smaller on the outside"). She seems to exist throughout time and space, so one would have to assume she was created, accidentally or intentionally by A)The Timelords (unlikely) B)The TARDIS (slightly more likely) or C)The Doctor himself (most likely in my mind).

I'm finding the Doctor the most likely candidate at the moment simply because of the soufflé analogy, since the Doctor is the one who keeps coming into contact with her/taking her out of the oven and making her collapse/die, I figure he's the one making the soufflé.

That's as far as my analysis goes at the moment. Given that Moffat usually gives us Glaringly Obvious Foreshadowing only to take it away at the last minute and go "No, that was just some thing some guy said for no reason, lol!", it's probably wayyyy off the mark.

That's a really good theory. I admit I was too busy feeling meh about the Xmas episode to even wonder about her. Also I got caught up in just not understanding what happened to River. I felt like I'd missed a whole series or something yet I did see the series finale.

I was also feeling a bit fed up with yet another young pretty girl as a companion. I'd really like it if your theory was true and it was a more interesting casting choice.

In fact thinking about River, It would be great if Clara was something to do with her, River feeling worried about not being able to be there for him, something like that. I can't even begin to say how much I don't want a romance between them though.

Don't we already know what happens to River, though? I mean, we've already seen how her story ends, we know how it begins and there's a bunch of stuff that happens in the middle, a lot oif which we've seen or heard about. I don't really expect to hear much more about River, full stop.

Oh yes, I know how her story ends, it's just that at the end of the series she and the doctor were quite happily together. Then this episode didn't even mention where she is, why he is where he is, both physically and mentally as it were. It also seems like he was flirting, but I don't know if that was meant to be the case or not, it may just be Moffat. I noticed on the Facebook page there were a lot of people saying please no romance so I think that it could be taken that way.

I love River, it's lovely to have a really good actress in Who, and a more mature woman at that. Plus I love how enigmatic and smart and tough she is. I don't expect she'll be in this series much, but this episode just seemed to come out of nowhere.

I suppose it's one of those things, I'm sure that all those fans who hated River are out there gunning for him to fancy the new girl and don't care either way, whereas because I liked her so much I at least wanted to know what was going on.

I love her too! My suspicion is she's going to have been manufactured by the Big Bad. Husband's is that she's River. She's just too awesome.

And yeah, whatever did happen to River?

I love her so! I want to eat her up. I thought at first maybe she's been manufactured by the BB, but River was pretty much already manufactured by the BB, wasn't she? Wouldn't that be a bit much?

I struggled to understand this episode, mainly because of all the people TALKING SO LOUDLY and PLAYING WITH NOISY TOYS in my living room (perhaps also because I was a bit drunk, and am possibly a bit more stupid than I prefer to think). However, I did think that she was going to be a proper love interest for the Dr, and that seemed somehow new and interesting (I forgot about River). Also, yes she is beautiful. It is lovely to watch beautiful people on the telly, is it not?
