Having that feeling of TURCHWAD SQUEEE back, without actually having the desire to watch any new Torchwood. Okay, so I am, apparently, an easily manipulated fangirl. I FEEL SO MUCH BETTER since House of the Dead, it's downright weird. But, obviously, I'm still not watching Miracle Day because I didn't much like it. (That IS the only reason, by the way, I could claim I'm doing it because I ABHOR RTD and EVERYTHING HE STANDS FOR and I REFUSE TO GIVE HIM THE SATISFACTION OMG, but the truth of the matter is, that if MD had been Olde Torchwood and they'd suddenly found a pterodactyl and made themselves a new underground volcano lair base and embossed a different and even more ostentatious car, I'd have watched it big time, Ianto or no Ianto. But it's not, it's that po-faced CoE NuTorchwood and I didn't like it the first time around.)

So, anyway, I'm doing screencaos at the mo, but for some reason I am also feeling a mite nostalgic and wistful and shit like that, so here's more pictures.



That there is, I believe, the first picture I ever posted on this here journal of Ianto Jones. I believe I posted it to illustrate some sort of point I was attempting to make about Gareth David-Lloyd's mouth and how enthralled I was by it.

I post this not because of Ianto's hilarious fayce in this picture, but because it contains a slice of Tosh's boob. Since I've started screencapping Series 2, I've become kind of enchanted by them. They're really, really round. You should have totally hit that, Harper. Idiot. I also must add that while watching S2, depite the Jack/Ianto kissings and such, I kind of secretly totally shipped Ianto/Tosh. I didn't mention it much because shipping a guy and a chick wasn't really the done thing in TW fandom, ever. But I can come out now, I totally thought Ianto should have dumped Jack's sorry arse for Tosh's fabulously perky tits.

I would have loved some Ianto/Tosh :) friendship or relationship, I wouldn't have minded. Neither of them were hughly appreciated by their respective 'others' and they should have had lots of comfort sex or just talked about how unappreciated they were by their respective others.

Apparently the viewing figures for episode 1 of MD are about a million down on episode 1 of COE - unless thousands of people are watching the Starz version on-line. If viewing figures go down even more, it won't be considered a success, although word of mouth might get more viewers in time for episode 2. The Radio Times has given episode 2 a poor review, although TV Times has given it a good review, so there you go.

I do think some fans are so 'OMG I'm so glad to see JACK and GWEN and RHYS again' that they're watching MD with rose-tinted spectacles. Episode 1 wasn't THAT good.

I don't know about Ianto/Tosh other than friendship--seems kind of boring to me--except that making Jack and Owen jealous could've been amusing. SOMEBODY should've recognized Ianto as a tasty morsel on the show (outside of Jack and John Hart that is, because--a poodle enthusiast and...Jack--does that really count?).

The very few Ianto/Tosh scenes we got I kind of loved. I agree there should have been more.

I always thought Tosh was WAY out of Owen's league both in terms of looks and brains. The fact that she didn't seem to appreciate that fact always kind of depressed me.

I like Tosh and Ianto too much as friends, I didn't ever see them as more than that. They were my two favourite characters so I related most to them both, but I think they are too similar to have any sexual chemistry or spark, where the objects of both their affections did have chemistry with them. (Owen being a prat to her not withstanding)

They never played it as any sexual chemistry, no, though I think they could easily have pulled it off. I always imagined Tosh getting maudlin and maybe a little tipsy and Ianto listening to her whine about Owen and being all manly shoulder-to-cry-on and understanding and then one thing leads to another and they accidentally have sex and then they go aw fuck it and become fuckbuddies.

I'm still not a bit interested in TW:MD - the more I hear about it the less interesting it gets. I did like the first two pre-COE radio plays, but I'm kinda nervous about that last one. I fear the wretched misery that was COE. I don't want anything to bring that wretchedness back.

otoh... Tosh and Ianto would have made an adorable couple, and would have been much better off than they were with what they thought they wanted. (Baring any serial killings, of course. Unless that was something they could have done together... Hmmmmnn...)

I don't know, House of the Dead made me, personally, quite happy, even though it was sad and pandery and manipulative, it still gave me a sense of closure, even though I went into it quite cynical about its ability to give me any sort of closure at all.

OMG how ruthless and organised and efficient would Tosh and Ianto be as a sexy serial killer duo? CANNOT UNSEE.
