What's sad is, the last time we had a happily married action couple on TV was Hart to Hart. Screw the "Moonlighting Principle" - it's perfectly possible to have a good show without having "will they or won't they" shoved at us!
I know, right? I mean, I could appreciate Moffat's "which one is she talking about" joke as much as the next person, but when Amy did that speech at the baby about who her father was, that was the biggest and best payoff I've ever seen on a TV show. I don't often cheer at the television, but I so did.
I'm not a big Amy fan, but I do love how she makes it clear, over and over, that while she's attracted to and swept away by the Doctor, she really, REALLY loves Rory.
And it certainly is a healthier notion of love than the Rose/Mickey trainwreck (not to mention the way the Doctor treats Rory may be dismissive but still is a million times better than how he treated Mickey.)

I don't see the Doctor's treatment of Rory as being overly dismissive. He does genuinely seem to like Rory, and not just because he's Amy's boyfriend/fiance/husband, but as a person in his own right.
Possibly this is at least in part because Amy treats Rory a hell of a lot better than Rose ever treated Mickey.
Yeah, I agree, I don't think the Doctor treats Rory badly at all, he seems quite fond of him as a person, and I don't recall him ever saying anything bad about him, unlike the whole Ricky/Mickey the Idiot thing. And Amy, as well, genuinely loves him A LOT, that's never really been in doubt, for me, anyway, but Rory has his own issues and insecurities, especially when he compares himself to the Doctor, that Amy doesn't do the greatest job of addressing to Rory's face, even though she knows she should. I don't quite understand why people have a go at Amy so often for being OMGSOTERRIBLE to Rory just because she calls him stupidface and she kissed the Doctor that one time, Rose treated Mickey way, way worse, both Rose and the Doctor, and especially together, were really dismissive and derogatory towards him, to the point where it was genuinely unpleasant to watch.
The Doctor teases Rory a lot... but not as badly (or as meanly) as he treated Mickey. What upsets me most about that is that Nine was getting better about it... and then Ten erased all of that. Ten and Rose formed a clique of two and kept Mickey around as a punching bag.
