But frankly, I can't be fucked anymore, I'm too tired of the whole thing. It's making me cry.

Anyways, I was going to respond to this:

So why tears in Doomsday? Well for a start, the relationship between the couple has developed tremedously. Having to adapt to a new regeneration would take time and I think in Doomsday, the Doctor finally realises how similar Rose has become to himself. Her sacrafice saved him, the human-race, the planet and quite possibly the Universe. Quite frankly, he realises she's his soul-mate. It's as though he finally admits it to himself. Unfortunately, he's too late to admit it to her...

But then Nos' already kind of did, and I would have just responded by flippantly throwing up in my mouth a little anyway. So I've decided to leave it. I have closed my browser window as a gesture of defiance. Or something.

There's a moment where he might. But he doesn't look happy about it. More sort of "OMGWTF Jackie is IMPORTANT. WHAT HAVE I DONE?"

I had a thought that they all fancied her and are sad because "omg no one could ever be as gooood." And were too thick to notice the love before Doomsday and have had to go back and add it on retrospectively. Srsly, if the love is a problem for GitF, why only worry about it now? Ten's love for Rose does not in any way seem to develop or grow or even change over time. It's there in New Earth, ffs. His inevitable emo over her leaving was always gonna happen, it's just that it set it up in a way that triggered all his emo in one go. It's pretty fucking explicit about the love-declaration not being a change but simply about how he will never have to follow up on it if he says it when she's in another universe.

The OG have never been that good at reading the emotional stuffs. Remember when they argued about how the Doctor could not possibly have loved Reinette because he didn't have any BURNING HOT TENSION going on there?

The OG actually makes me feel like my meta is deep and insightful.

Which is quite worrying, when I normally consider it Me Pointing Out The Bloody Obvious.

OMG I remember that thread!!! And the whole time I'm screaming at the screen 'CAN'T YOU JUST BE HAPPY FOR FIVE MINUTES THAT THERE'S A TARDIS AT ALL!?!?!?'

But no, they can't.

They love Tooth and Claw. And yet to me that one has about two significant scenes and one of those is just setting up the hubris and the Torchwood and repeating the "receiving a message from the great beyond." So it's like forty-odd minutes of CGI werewolf and a wee bit of emo for the Doctor and some foreshadowing (which made be foreshadowing for S3 as well as for the end of S2). Which means it's pretty pointless for the most part, to me.

I will allow the licking to be counted as Significant.

Ahem! The Scottish accent. Also, the taunting of Rose in said accent. 'Ain't that right, ya...tim'rous beastie.'

So maybe 10 minutes... :D

I love Tooth and Claw. Because it might be mostly pointless, but damn it has style. And as has been pointed out, I am a deeply shallow individual.

It's pretty, but I am not sure why so many people rate it as the best thing ever, y'know?

Firstly, in retrospect it seems to have moved down the ranking chain quite a bit - like The Unquiet Dead, really.

That said, we live in a world where style quite frequently wins over substance.

Euros is a darling. And he's doing The Runaway Bride, which is a good thing (Also, aside from the Tennant thing, the S2 episodes? So much prettier than S1.)

See, I took that scene as...well, sometimes you love someone and you want to keep them selfishly no matter what it does to them. And sometimes you love someone and that means you want the best for them even if that means you can't keep them.

And for a while in S2, the Doctor was ok with being a bit selfish over Rose, but he tried to keep a balance, taking her home sometimes, bringing Mickey along, smacking her down in SR and Gitf'ace. Reminding her that there was more to life than him and the TARDIS. But it didn't work and I think it finally hit him when he decided to do the unselfish thing and send her to safety in Pete's World. The look on his face when he puts the chain around Rose's neck just tears me up...it's the last thing he can do for her, it's as profound an act of love as any kiss or BAFTA cry scene...

...and Rose rejects it, coming straight back. And then we get the horror as he realises that she wants the selfish love, even if it kills her, even if it destroys her family, destroys him. It's a 'what the hell have I done' moment...

Exactly! That's totally what I think. He's like "I've created a monster" and it's a bit late to save her cause he's just gotta get rid of the Daleks & Cybers and he can't be fucking around with the domestic at the moment.

That's how I read it, too. Or alternately, the Doctor realizes that Rose has just become like him -- echoing his neediness and loss of perspective and rashness that his last incarnation had to work to overcome, and going "oh, crap."
