Nice to see a post from you though, and I'm sure you will still be proved right, as you always have been before. Like this will be some new thing, like Merlin or something, with young naked people and Jack and Gwen being the adult supporting cast. Something like that. Rhys will be a goner, or maybe he can have child custody. it will be the Jack/Gwen show.

Actually, it will probably have very little Barrowman in it. It's supposed to start filming Aug/Sept this year - and he's booked up with other things till January. So it'll be the Gwen show RTD always wanted to do. Plus a cast of American redshirts.

Oh yes of course, the Excalibur thing! I really doubt he would have accepted other things over new TW, so it must be what he was expecting. I am being a pessimist but I just doubt it will be the show we have known.

Loves me some Party Down. Not so thrilled about the Torchwood renewal (description of the new direction doesn't appeal to me at all), but knew it was inevitable. Out of all of the US channels, though, I can see it working on Starz.

Minority opinion: I'm thrilled!

I loved CoE, despite what I'll euphemistically call "everything". I love Jack and like Gwen (especially as she was in CoE), so I'm ready for more. It won't be like old times, I know. Specifically no hot-ass emotional disasters in pinstripe suits. But I soldier on!

I don't know what to tell you. I'm a congenital and habitual optimist. I possess a generally obnoxious sunny outlook that 45 years of my own sarcasm and news-obsession and frequent outbreaks of Dubya- and/or other stupid!human-sponsored rage hasn't cracked. It rolls off me like a fast-passing summer storm. Then the sun comes out, the flowers bloom, the birdies sing, and I'm ready for all the alien farts of doom the world can throw at me.

Not really interested in s4 Torchwood for a variety of reasons, but did like Party Down when I got to see it. Should try and seek it out again.

Wouldn't a Torchwood with hardly any Torchwood and set in America be the anti-Torchwood? The most barely there of all the Torchwood's thus far? I know they tried a similar trick in COE, but surely RTD doesn't like to repeat himself?

I did try and watch Spartacus on Starz when it started because, hello, John Hannah and Xena on the same screen, but the godawful first episode and working nights kind of killed that. Maybe I'll still check it out sometime though.
