eleven_rose

I don't usually post solely to slag things off and call them shit, but I'll make an exception. Given that we know NOTHING about Eleven, and won't do for another two-odd years, what, exactly, is the point in shipping him with anyone? Given the fact that there is a perfectly adequate Doctor/Rose community in time_and_chips, why create a comm specifically for this pairing? Given that Doctor/Rose shippers have a tendency to h8 on Moffat for reasons of Reinette and River Song, why start a community for the specific shipping of Moffat's Doctor, who, let's face it, chippers probably won't like, with Rose, whom Moffat doesn't like and couldn't write a decent part for even when she was IN the show? Just because they were in a few shows together? Is that it? See, what I can see happening, is that frequenters of eleven_rose will spend the next two years building up a fictastic alternate universe that is SO OOC and bizarre that they can only be disappointed, and disappointed hugely, when Eleven happens and there is no Rose. Which is what's going to happen.

Already, the two fics posted there contain the summary lines "Let's pretend Doomsday didn't happen!" If I were more inclined to be a bitch, I'd say something bitchy about that, but it's the new year, so live and let live and all that. Though on a bitchy note I must add:
1) The comm is titled Smith & Tyler. That's a REAL NAME, paired with a FICTIONAL NAME. Yes. Quite.
2) ETC. is spelled ETC. Not ECT. It stands for ET CETERA. Hence ETC.
Huge swathes of this fandom embarrass me so. Don't even get me started on Jack/Ianto photomanips.

I got quoted on who_anon, but in an ENTIRELY different context than the last time. My socks can still bring teh luls, at least.

ETA AGAIN: I think what bugs me about eleven_rose is that those who ship Eleven and Rose could have been shipping Eleven and Rose and starting communites about them since Tennant announced his departure ages ago, yet they chose to wait until they found out Eleven was a skinny white boy to do so. Presumably because they needed a place to write fic about his hair. Just sayin'.
