For any of you wanting to properly participate over at who_anon.

• Read something on the journal of an acceptable meme target. I'm always good for a laugh, as is karaokegal, lately rivier is good too, anyone into Torchwood is always a good choice, because liking Torchwood is an inherently mockworthy thing on the meme anyway, so you're guaranteed a bunch of people jumping in and making you feel good about yourself by agreeing with you on how much of a twat said target is.
• Fail to read the actual post, sum it up correctly, or understand what it's about and just post a link with as little explanation as possible. Maybe a "lol" or something.
• Wait for everyone to pile in and join you in failing to read the post in question, misquoting parts of it, assigning meanings to things that aren't implied in the text and being generally amusing about how much of a twat the poster is for posting words on their personal journal.
• Sit back, safe in the knowledge that the mocked poster will not jump in to defend themselves on the meme or elsewhere, for fear of causing an infinite loop of ever more hateful and personal wank, so you can just comment on, say, their parenting skills as much as you like, nobody really cares, do they?
  
  ADDITIONAL STEPS AS OF POST COE FALLOUT:
• Wait for someone to step up and smack you down for posting the original link because surely people can post what they want in their journals and it's not particularly mockworthy and can't we all just get along?
• Jump on that person and call them "meme nanny" or "troll" or both if the mood takes you.
• Fight amongst yourselves, take it to the mod post and generally act like a bunch of childish cunts.
• Be righteously indignant when anyone points out that you are, in fact, all a bunch of childish, pathetic cunts.
• Call that person a troll.
• Start over.

Yep to every word of this. They are a shoal of cunts... who get ever so sulky and pouty about the meeeeeeanness of anyone nasty enough to call them a shoal of cunts when they're busy being so thoroughly cuntish. They have Rules and Standards over there, you know! It explicitly isn't a hate meme, even if the sight of a huddle of trolls sploshing around in ever smaller circles in a pool of their own shit might make you think otherwise. A credit to the fandom, one and all. Honestly, I'd be so proud, if only I could post there, I'd want to make sure everyone on my flist knew I was participating. I can't understand why they don't! (But I am enjoying keeping note of the anonfails whenever they land in my inbox...)

(I've undone that thing, by the way - just haven't had time to sit down and email you to explain why it happened in the first place. It was pleasingly banal and knee-jerky of me: you'll love it when I do manage to get it written.)

Honestly, I wouldn't have gone as far as you did in calling them out and calling them cunts and all that kind of stuff, because I know quite a lot of my flist are on the meme (though, yeah, they're suspiciously quiet about it, and honestly, I don't like to ask, because I really do disapprove, but I don't want to fall out with anyone over it, so it's don't ask, don't tell for me, really), but then today is like the third time a link to my journal on the meme has resulted in people on there making assumptions about my parenting skills, and it's just not fucking on. But, you know, that sort of shit's just fine as long as you abide by the fucking rules, whatever the fuck they may be.

So they can go fuck themselves. Again.

There are a few people who have me friended and who participate there, and I damn well hope they're upset by me branding every single person who plays there a festering shit, because averting your eyes and handwaving the bad smells when trolling or bashing happens there doesn't make any of them morally superior to the trolls and bullies: it just adds a nice dollop of hypocrisy to the mix. And if I 'lose' the goodwill of a hypocrite or two, well, I'm very comfortable with that.

It's like the hilarious thread started up there now - not, I'm sure, in any way a reaction to the meme being slagged off for its putrid trollishness - where the poor insulted anons are tripping over each other to post about how much *they* are only there for the picspams and the lulz and the civilised, BNF-free discussions, all of which make it perfectly reasonable to turn a blind eye to the lies and bullying. "I respect the people here", says one smug little twat there - because 'respecting' the right of a bunch of cowards to trash anyone they decide to single out by name and shit on really makes one such a nice, honourable person, doesn't it?

And it's funny how insisting that the meme is a fluffy cradle of puppies and rose-petals isn't generating the oppressed screams of "Cult of Be Nice To Me" that any other anti-wank thread would. I wish to fuck they had enough collective intelligence to be consistent even for five minutes. Not looking likely any decade soon, is it.

Back then, I thought it was some top sekrit club that was run by some top sekrit whovian cabal. Which is probably the initial reason I never posted there.

I don't understand why people would post anonymous shit about each other, but then I don't post shit about people under f-lock or anything, either, maybe I just don't get that aspect of LJ. For me f-lock is for personal stuff, and that's about it. Maybe I'm doing it wrong?

Hi! As far as I know my most recent "guest appearance" had to do with my response to the "character' meme, because I had the temerity to re-assert the Doctor's major place in Jack's life and heart and thoughts. Which is obviously ludicrous, since he was still quoting the Doctor as recently as CoE, but whatever.

Apparently someone else accused the OP of being a "papparazzi stalker" type, which implies that I'm some sort of internet celebrity. *waves at fans*
