There's an article here at Digital Spy about this week's Sarah Jane episodes which, yet again, has me fearing the worst. I still can't actually decide if I'm going to watch. I know the priest is an alien, but I get the distinct feeling Nigel Havers is in on it, and Sarah Jane isn't going to end up happy with like, a man. Any takers for the mystery line? Consensus seems to be "no-one's ever going to forget you," but I'm not so sure about the "forget" part. Whichever way you read it, it would appear that Russell's message is going to be, once again, that the Doctor pwns everybody and really fucks up your chances of ever having a normal life and a happy relationship. Thanks. But then again, Sarah Jane's old and we all know older women in Rusty's world are asexual. So no big loss there.

Should I watch or am I too jaded?

Try sidereel.com. Right now they have episodes through Mad Woman in the Attic. After an episode has finished its run on BBC, it will usually show up a week or so afterwards. also if you google the episode you can uusually find it somewhere on line the day after.

I watched CoE online within a few days of it showing in the UK. So at least I knew why fandom was sooo pissed off!

Thank you. I do have her 2nd & 3rd series DVD sets on order. I was fortunate to get downloads for COE and was able to watch shorhly after airing on BBC. That was a great help.

It's getting trailed heavily on BBC for the episodes this week. It's half-term over here, so the kids are not at school and glued to the telly as we're all too poor for luxurious holidays.

Nigel Havers can't be an alien; a bounder and a cad, yes, but alien, no.

There are no happy endings for people who deserve 'em in RTD-world - just pain, angst and the thrusting of characters you are at best ambivalent towards in yer fayce.

Yeah, I've seen a few trailers, I even watched the end of the last episode just to see the Next Time trailer, but it all seems to be shouty Doctor and Sarah Jane being in love with someone evil. No good can come of this.

1) rusty isn't actually writing it himself, which is something at least.

2) sarah jane's reaction to the news that the doctor was coming back in the last episode seemed entirely sensible ('omg what's HE doing here what trouble is he bringing with him that might hurt my family??') rather than being all squeeful about seeing her imaginary alien boyfriend again.

of course, all the positive indicators could just be a ruse to dash our feeble hopes again, but oh well. i have to admit i squeed inside when i saw ten again, so i'll definitely be watching.
