The Pontipines just got in the Ninky Nonk, which took off all around the Night Garden. Eventually, it drives around Macka Packa's feet, with the Ninky Nonk coming up to around Macka Packa's ankles. Two seconds later, the Ninky Nonk stops, opens its doors and lets Macka Packa inside the middle bit, at which point Macka Packa is suddenly about one twentieth the size that he was in the previous scene, and easily fits inside the middle bit which earlier had been about ten times smaller than Macka Packa himself. Pocket-sized, even, the kind of size where Macka Packa could have easily fit the entire train contraption in his pocket, had he had one. My son is currently trying to get his head around the logistics of this, and tells me that perhaps the Ninky Nonk is magic and can change size at will. It looks as though he himself doesn't even believe this pathetic excuse. Millie doesn't care, as long as Upsy Daisy features heavily. My head hurts.

I love it - i really identify with mackapacka and the 3some that keep pulling their trousers down.

I leave my brain at the door, and just luxuriate in the trip.

If your kid is questioning the logic behind a show that's aimed at his age group, perhaps it's time to let him watch something else? It sounds like he's way smarter than the show.

I think the makers of ITNG must have been aware of all these problems...but then they probably thought WTF, the whole programme's bloody insane anyway. The best thing about it to me is Derek Jacobi lending his Shakespearean actorly gravity to the proceedings.
