Well, since it's for GDL's charity, count me in. (The Unicorn-Ianto pic may have had some sway, too. LOL)

I'm glad some good is coming out of all of this. Ianto deserves a pony. A pony who will truly appreciate all he does for it. A pony who won't mind wearing a unicorn horn on occasion...because, dammit, it makes Ianto happy.

May I make an observation? I think this is a great idea and totally support all endeavours with charity WARS (Ponies? They're gonna kick arse). However, some of us enjoyed CoE, and while I do support Lluest and their aims for many many reasons beyond just GDL, I'm a little miffed at feeling like I'm tacitly agreeing to statements about shoddy & pointless authorial intent etc by donating here. Would it not be preferable to neutralise the statement a little so people who want to buy Ianto a pony don't necessarily feel like they're having to take up residence on a particular side of a line in the sand? I value critique on CoE, but I don't really have any wish to put my name/support to something that reads like an up yours to certain other involved parties.

I will likely support regardless (or else make a seperate donation to the charity), I just thought I'd make that suggestion.

I am also glad you changed it, not because I don't think your comment was right, it was more because GDL will see it, not only because he is patron, but because one of the charity workers said on the other thread how funny he will find it. I did think that he will love the first part, but may feel very uncomfortable about the last bit, so it was bothering me. Also if it put anyone off, then that can't be good.

Bloody Hell it's at £415, you must be really chuffed. Seriously I think it's great, and when I said to you about entering the competitive charity thing, I was only half joking, but what a great result. I think your witty and balanced just giving page is brilliant and accounts for the success.

I am now really gunning for at least £500, it's quite addictive.

I want to buy a unicorn for Ianto too but will this work with a US credit card? Or will I be charge mega bucks for converting to pounds or euros or what ever (you - the) use over there? Not that I don't love the charity or anything, but I can't tell my husband I spent $20000000 for a pony for a fictional character who is now dead and can't even ride it.

I think you'll be charged whatever your card company charges you for exchange. As far as I can tell, you can make donations as small as 2 pounds, which, even with mythical exorbitant exchange charges of 500% can't work out to more than 10 bucks, but more likely would work out to around 5.
