I haven't watched the episode yet but I did see the death scene and I've decided that Jack gave Ianto another kiss of life before he died and in my alternate reality, they both woke up a few minutes later.

Is there any chance it happened right at the end of the episode and that he could resurrect tomorrow? *sobs*

I also wonder if Clem meant that Ianto smelled funny because he's an alien too and maybe he won't die and maybe he's really a time lord.

I'm bitterly sure that there is no way RTD (if he gets to decide) would ever do that. He is enjoying all of our pain and angst too much. I am so devastated, I am just glad I live in the US and can avoid all of his work - if he treats his fans like this, then I don't want any part anything he does.

And yes, I know, we have to punish Jack and show how much he sacrifices. And isn't it nice that Rhys and Gwen are having their little baby and are married and finding a house? Let's hope someone from that side of the whole TW equation has to make a sacrifice at some point.

Sorry, I'm just so piesed. My only hope is that there is so much backlash against this that they take TW away from RTD and give it to James Moran who makes Ianto a time lord (which is why he smells "queer to Clem) when/if they do Series 4. Then again, who the fuck is left for series 4? And frankly, who cares.

Yeah, I felt the same; the death was totally blah. Aside from the shocking value, which was nonexistent to me since I was previously spoiled, there was no climatic effect like Tosh ans Owen's death (that was some strong stuff, I can still feel it every time re-watching it), but I try not to be too optimistic.

I was hoping there would be more hug the corps moment... yeah, I'm rubbish.

RTD has managed to ruin an entire fandom for me. Unless something miraculous happens tomorrow night, I'm done. I couldn't stomach the Captain & Gwen show. The level of cheese and overacting would be astounding.

I really hope RTD gets boo-ed at Comic Con. I don't think he gets that American audiences don't like to have main characters killed off, it pisses them off & tends to make them leave a show for good. And not purchase DVD's, books, show ephemera...

Even though Ianto's death wasn't as dramatic as Owen and Tosh's, the fact that it played out quietly seems to have been effective for most viewers, it certainly got me. I'm glad Jack had the decency to say 'don't leave me' and 'no, not him' because it shows that Jack DID have some feelings for Ianto, even though I wanted more in the run up to his death.

I'm not sure how I feel at the moment, maybe it hasn't truely hit me yet. When another favourite character of mine died, it took the second viewing to bring me to tears. I'm still watching tonight but mostly for Rhiannon and her family, since she's all that's left of Ianto now.
