Yeah, so I lurk around at who_anon every once in a while. I even post occasionally, though never anonymously because I'm just a dweeb like that, and also because I am more than likely entirely incapable of not sounding like me when I post, even if I do it as an anon. It's the commas, I expect.

Anyway, this exchange made me laugh far more than it should have and even brought a wee tear to my eye:

The bears are a complete mystery to me. I categorically do not get it, maybe because I am old and bitter and possess no inner child. I also wonder at times what the inner dialouge sounds like when whiskey-swilling, arse-exposing, potty mouth actors meet these bears.

Um... should I run and hide now as I have my Giles bear sitting on the top of my desk hutch? Not that he's a custom made bear or anything, just one that I got for Christmas one year that's wearing a tweed sweater and a tie... kinda reminded me of Giles so I called him that. *sigh* My inner child is alive and well, I guess.

I think everyone collects something at some point in their lives be it bears, toys, dolls, pets (cats, dogs, birds, whatevers). It's a human thing... but I've never understood the need to customize their collections to their fandom. Just collect what you like.

I don't get the bear thing at all. Especially people who take them to places, and are then all "I can't believe it, GDL/JB/Burn/whoever remembered me from last time!", as if they'd immediately forget being accosted by a weirdy with a bear.

That said, if someone does find an actual, proper bear cub, and then dresses him in a little Ianto suit, I think that would please me more than anything else ever. But the RSPCA might intervene. And then it'd grow out of the clothes. And bear suits are probably quite expensive. No, it's definitely a bad idea...
