GAHHHH!!

Why are my icons getting replaced by other people's icons and the numbers in the url's randomly changing into other numbers?? IT'S FREAKING ME THE FUCK OUT.

My lovely gay IT crowd icon:

turned into this:

overnight. And kateorman's got a weirdy Ianto one that seems to suddenly be a guy on a rowing machine. I AM SCARED THAT LIVEJOURNAL MICHT BE BREAKING???

Those icons actually look the same to me? All three icons I see are the "That's gay" icon.

It happened to me, too. Anyway, LJ says you have to clear your cache, because your icon is still there, but because of something in the cache, the picture is showing up wrong. I cleared my cache and it fixed it, but it still happens sometimes. Apparently they can't figure out why.

the icons look the same... I think lj does that sometimes, where it changes an icon to look like something else to the user but like the same icon to everyone else.

Contrary to everyone else, I see the RAF icon. This is... weird...

AAAH! Scary! I've cleared my cache but I'm still seeing it. They both have a different url, anyway, so I don't get how people can be seeing anything other than the RAF one.

Okay I cleared my own cache, and the second image shows up broken, but for me, the icon that you're using for this entry matches the first one posted. O_o That has not happened to me before.

Way to go, LJ. Now you break your users' icons in multiple ways!

For the second icon I just have a broken image. o_o

It's happened to me before, though, where one of my icons will turn into a broken link for a while and it's fixed itself.

It's a known issue for lj - just go to support: http://www.livejournal.com/support/ and follow the instructions on the related bullet point (if you're still seeing the wrong icon). And I've heard just deleting and reloading the icon fixes it (but when it happened to me, I used lj support and - after a day or two - it was fixed up).

It still seems likely that lj might be breaking.

Apparently these phantom icons are not a new thing - certainly the shadow guy on a rowing machine has been around before. I've read recently some of my other friends have been hit too.
