It HAS been very inconsistent, yeah, and I really do believe one or two of the writers this season were shipping Jack/Gwen or believed they were meant to implying some sort of Jack/Gwen love interest. I won't go talking about the retardedness of not having a show bible again, but, yeah, I think that's retarded, and not groundbreaking in any way, unless you mean you mean groundbreaking in the sense of groundbreakingly retarded.
Yeah, we never really get to see the repercussions of Ianto's actions, but I don't think it was a major issue. Like I've said elsewhere, Ianto only goes behind Jack's back because he feels it's in the best interests of both Jack and the team as a whole, the quicker Gwen lets go of this, the quicker they can get back to chasing aliens.
