Yeah, I like that too. I actually handwaved it myself as being Ianto trying to relive some sort of childhood experience of sitting in the cinema with his dad with a stray raindrop trickling down the back of his neck whilst his dad grumbled about the candy in his coat pocket being slightly damp. Something romantic like that, anyway.
