Darryn's ideal crossover television show, which would be The One Where Torchwood Teams Up With Primeval has also become my idea of perfect televisual entertainment. Various reasons, really:
For some reason I just really want to see this.
Anyway, Torchwood tonight. I love that people who watch Torchwood and also are on the internets and have no life (I am one of those people) are the sort of people who'd notice that bit in episode seven where Ianto brandishes a hockey stick around and Jack gives him a "WTFHockeystick?" look, and immediately remember and assume it has something to do with that bit in episode 2 where the policeman says something about sports equipment in the bedroom and Jack says "you should come round to my house and play hockey some time". I love it when the sad, sad internet fan is catered for in this way by scriptwriters with nothing better to do. I'm not being sarcastic, I really do love it.
Also, I never read fanfic, just for the simple reason that it's fanfic, unless it promises to be Of Great Cracktastic Value. Along those lines I am actually very glad I read that one a few weeks back where Jack ends up superglued inside Ianto's arse. I feel those sorts of stories add a hitherto unexplored depth of enjoyment to a show I already greatly enjoy anyway. More of that sort of thing, please.
Happy Torchwood, and such...
- THINK OF THE COATS. There would be so many coats of so many varying lengths involved it would just make your head spin. Fantastic.
- There is a BIG POSSIBILITY that Douglas Henshall's strange drone-like underacting and John Barrowman's KERAZEEDRAMATICFAYCE!!! overacting would somehow cancel each other out and create two normal, believable people.
- Either that, or it really would be:
Cutter: "Hullo. We're. Looking. For. An. Anomaly."
Harkness: "Oh, that's fabulous, we're Torchwood, this is our Hub. Come in, come in, come in"
Cutter: "Aye. Hub... We. Have. An. Ark."
Harkness: "Really? That's so cute. I love your coat by the way, it's adorable..."
etc etc etc. - Also, it would give Myfanwy a storyline, which would be reason enough, yeah?
For some reason I just really want to see this.
