There should be an episode of New Who set entirely in IKEA. I'm not joking either. I'm serious. It would be good.

I was reading stuff last night on the internets, and like many others, I am starting to worry that S2 of Torchwood will start shoving Jack/Gwen at us, because: beeb2. That would make me squick.

Sad now.

Ikea yes. The TARDIS is furnished from there anyway. All goth in the console room yes, but everywhere else is self-assembly things called Urikk and Johhannnnne.

I saw Chloe Webber's bedspread at Ikea.

Judging by the amount of IKEA artefacts in the episodes your wish was already granted ;)

Could it be a huge IKEA and he can go "I lost her!" and then it turns out Martha was buying a bookcase so he bans her from reading every again

IKEA is a lot like being the Isolus, isn't it?

Only a man with a Sonic Screwdriver can assemble IKEA without (A) bursting into tears (B) quarrelling with everybody within a 20-foot radius (C) discovering at least three parts missing.

I frequently find a Vise-Grips helps, and it often takes two working together to lift the big heavy bits once there are other bits attached at a 90-degree angle.

I think we may be working at different scales. Earlier this year we were assembling a queen-size bed for our son. When you're attaching a six-foot sideboard that is already attached to a footboard at one end to the headboard at the other, it's rather nice to have somebody supporting the footboard side.

Is it less shameful if I admit that I can do that too? I'm banned from going to IKEA now without a responsible adult.

Ikea? Only if he BLOWS IT UP.

And the Ikea-ness of the new show is as nothing compared to Babylon 5... go back and look at all the Minbari furnishings. Except for the beds, Ikea doesn't stock ones at 45-degree angles...
