Torchwood...again.

See? Pretty mouth. Moving on...
My two cents for the final two parter, and yes it's about Ianto AGAIN, but it's because he has hidden depths of anguish and darkness and not because I find him pretty. I think we're being hit by an awful lot of "not part of the team" clue-by-fours about Ianto, yet again in Out of Time there was this "meet the team..." moment which he was in no way part of. And I've been reading a few spoilers and things about Jack, and I've come to the conclusion that Ianto is most definitely Not Working For Jack and TW3.
I believe he's keeping an eye on Jack, perhaps even spying on Jack (By any means necessary? Perhaps...) on behalf of someone else. TW1 maybe? Something bigger? I will of course be proven completely wrong about this very soon, but that's where my money's going, fuelled partly by the fact that we keep being given these insights into the fact that he's easily the most competent and intelligent person in the bloody hub, yet he's content to make coffee and clean up pterodactyl shit and pizza boxes most of the time, and that thing that's been bugging me for the whole series and keeps coming back to haunt me: He smuggled a cyberwoman, AND dismantled, transported and reassembled an ENTIRE cyberconversion unit BY HIMSELF??? With NO HELP from anyone. He managed to get these things from London to Cardiff and up and working and nobody saw him do it. I think Ianto's pretty 133t, but I don't buy that for a moment. I still don't buy that. And for some reason me not buying that has led to me believing he's a double agent for TW1, or a higher organisation. That, and that angsty depressed fayce in that leaked ep 13 picture, which also screams "up to something" at me.
Oh, and all of this of course only strengthens my original prediction which I done made ages ago in
torchwoodcoffee which was that Jackanto predates the Cyberwoman episode and Ianto has some sort of Agenda in that relationship.

Date: 2006-12-21 03:48 pm (UTC)I, for one largely agree. I posted this speculation a relatively long time ago, and I've still not seen anything to *really* discredit it (the Ianto part at least. Some of the Jack bits might be up for discussion)
But that's also the reason I *don't* think there was actually anything going on between Jack and Ianto before. *Afterwards*, Ianto may have chosen to try a new tack, though.

Date: 2006-12-21 04:23 pm (UTC)No, srsly, I like your spec there, it makes sense to me that Ianto is actually there to supervise Jack. Whether Jack knows this, I wouldn't like to say. But in light of the spoilers I've been reading about Jack's relationship with Torchwood, I'd say they would definitely send in a mole. And that has got to be Ianto.
