I think people are thrown by the phrase "wonderfully, genuinely repentant," as am I. The whole description reeks not of "evil bad guy" but of "love-to-hate-him grey-area bad guy." Which is a perfectly fine sort of bad guy to be, just not when you combine it with the word "pedophile," it's making me WTF all over the place.
Not that these sorts of casting blurbs are written by Shakespeare, I think that should be taken into account, but still the pedophile guy just doesn't sit right no matter how I read it and I've reread it about a hundred times today.
