I use arial, myself, just because I like having the option of having the black and narrow variants. Verdana's okay, but a bit squashed, as in it doesn't look very tall, and it's a bit ten-years-ago. Futura's good too, it's very round. There's a free Futura ripoff called Geo Sans Light which is googleable, but I don't have that myself, so I couldn't tell you what the sizes and weights are like.
My personal fave is Frutiger Linotype, but then I used to work for a Linotype distributor so I'm biased.
