My brain is thinking about Rory again, it's doing that a lot lately. See, the thing about that line from LKH is that, apart from him channelling Arthur Dent again (GOD I LOVE WHEN HE DOES THAT) is, umm...
-Can you ride a motorbike?
-I expect so, it's that sort of day.
...I think it's one of these little Moffat hints about all the cool GQMF shiz that is hidden inside Rory's head that he has chosen to close the doors on because he doesn't want to think about it too much, but that doesn't mean it's NOT THERE, or inaccessible in any way. 1900 years of... stuff Rory has done and learned to do and experienced and is hiding from us or himself, even. I mean, "I EXPECT SO?" How ambiguous an answer is that?? And then it turns out he can, he was right, it was in there somewhere, muscle memory, brain memory, whatever, but yes, Rory CAN ride a motorbike despite the fact that in the time that Amy has known him (since they were kids), she's never known him to ride or be able to ride a motorbike (which is why she asks). "IT'S THAT SORT OF DAY?" Well, yes, yes indeed it is that sort of day, it's a punching Hitler, Shut Up Hitler, locking-Hitler-in-a-cupboard sort of day, the sort of day where Rory surprises himself by being way more hardcore/badass/experienced/capable than he believes himself to be. I BELIEVE THIS AMUSING EXCHANGE WILL BECOME RELEVANT LATER.
