Lily Allen as next companion? I don't think so. Having said that, I never actually heard any of this speculation that Rhys Ifans was in the running for 11...
*licks Rhys Ifans' face*
Is there a petition I can sign somewhere??? I love Rhys Ifans, and the idea of a Welsh Doctor makes me kind of gooey.

Speaking of the Allen family, who I believe are usually best avoided, especially Keith, Rhys Ifans was in one of my favourite films ever, Twin Town. Twin Town, directed by Lily's uncle Kevin but don't let that put you off, makes it into my Top Ten Films of All Time list solely by virtue of its closing scene, with the pier and the boat and the male voice choir and all the pretty lights. If you haven't seen it, you must. You will never look at Swansea in quite the same way ever again. Anyway, as you were...

I am currently in the process of trying to move the cat litter tray from the shed into an electrical cupboard. I have no idea whether this venture will be successful. I have been far too lenient with the cats, and the whole shed thing lasted way too long. We used to have three cats, but my cat Boo died about three years ago. When we still had three, we had two trays, because it avoided arguments between them. The trays were in the bathroom. We soon got fed up with standing with our bare feet in cat litter at seven in the morning and installed a huge tray, no cover, in the shed. The shed is inaccessible from the house so we installed a cat flap in the wall. Arguments ensued, so we installed another catflap next to the first one so Monty wouldn't block access for the other two with his huge looming bulk. This worked OK and then Boo died and we kind of left it that way. Unfortunately having a big washing machine sized tray in the shed meant having to go into the not very much bigger shed to clean them out, and it also meant that all the space on the floor and above the tray was completely unuseable. And so I have decided that enough is enough. Both remaining cats, Chainsaw and Monty have, in the past, been perfectly happy to do their business in a small, covered cat tray with a little flappy door, so I feel I am being more than generous in allowing them the entire floor space of the electrical cupboard with a one catflap access point. They're cats, they're flexible creatures, even taking into account Monty's 11 kilo hairy presence. So I am currently training them to go in the cupboard. At present, this involves leaving the cupboard door open and having them go in and out through there. I was happy to see disturbed cat litter this morning, so at least one of them has gone in. I have now shut the cupboard door for the day to see if anyone bites in the having-to-go-through-the-catflap arena. The tray in the shed is still there, but the one remaining cat flap has been locked, much to their dismay.
I have yet to see any evidence that Monty is actually physically able to go through the cat flap, which is quite low down, the floor of the cupboard being higher than the floor outside, and turn around, do his business and leave, but I'm hoping I may just be giving him too little credit as a BLOODY CAT, choosing instead to see him as some sort of huge, inept and clumsy child. A Maine Coon he may be, but he can still get in and out of a smallish space, surely?

*waits patiently in the hallway ALL DAY to see if this is indeed the case*

I NEVER get rid of books... I have far too many. Having said that, I also have TWO copies of very many books, so, if you want, let me know and I'll send em to ya for postage to my paypal, or not if you're skint and/or tight or I like you or all of the above.

Fuck me, what a WEIRD selection this is... )

First come, and all that.
