Even as someone who likes Gwen I don't think she's really any more compassionate than the others. Less jaded maybe, and less cynical, but give her time and she'll be shooting people inna face for looking at her funny. She is not a beautiful delicate nurturing soul, she's just slightly more in tune with the morality that Torchwood have had to abandon or alter.
