Fans didn't deserve to lose their money, no, and they should be reimbursed for photo ops etc. that didn't take place, definitely. On the other hand, anyone willing to shell out 500 EARTH DOLLARS to an organisation with such shoddy webdesign skillz and such a hilariously cheap tv commercial really should be smart enough to read the fine print, especially as it's, as you say, a con revolving mainly around one person. Somebody actually paid 1400 dollars for a front row premiere ticket for this thing. 1400 DOLLARS. I want to feel REALLY SORRY for that person, but I can't help but laugh a little at the sheer stupid of that.
