Gwen gets up after an explosion and goes towards the big wall of rubble saying "My friends are in there." She is dragged away kicking and screaming by some paramedics.

Ianto clambers out of the wreckage, looks around and makes a run for it, chasing an ambulance that's being driven from the scene. Onlookers describe it as "a gay run", which, let's face it, is only what we have come to expect from Gareth. There's a later shot of Ianto on top of Mermaid Quay, writing down a license plate number.

Aw pshaw, Gareth has a manly run. At least he did in season 2. I was always convinced Ianto was actually *trying* to either escape from or capture the designated evil-doer. Contrarily, Jack and Owen always seemed as if they were out for a casual jog, most notably in the Dead Man Walking episode.

Ahhh this is certainly interesting to blow up the Hub so early into the 5 parter (again with James Moran blowing up things, as this is his script, right?) but I can't help but be bothered by the fact that... well, wouldn't it make a big hole of rubble than a pile of rubble if their happy underground base was destroyed? Wouldn't everything cave inward and even if it DID blow up outward, it wouldn't be piled quite so high?

Indeed he does. Honestly, that's the one thing that kind of bugs me about shows like these - I can happily suspend disbelief for the pterodactyl, the man who can't die, and all the aliens n' shit, but crawling out of an explosion like that with nowt to show but a sexy paper cut and a slightly dirty suit. Bah.

Or maybe the gay run is down to some serious pelvic injury. No?
