Keep in mind that at the time, writers and producers at the Rift had all just denied any knowledge of the Captain's Blogs, and one of the writers went so far as to posit that a BBCA intern or researcher wrote them. I believe that writer may well have actually been Moran himself. I know I waffle on, but I don't pluck things completely out of thin air.
