I read a report on Gareth's panel about how he was grumbling about being hungover and about "the aftermath of a party." I'm kind of taking it as true, simply because these girls didn't seem to know who he was particularly, and didn't seem to have gone there for him..

I'm surprised some people think these stories are definately true. Yes Gareth can behaviour 'badly' at times but sleeping around whilst he's engaged? Fangirls will say anything for a laugh.

Having said that, he did say in Torchwood magazine last year that he treated Sara Gregory-Lloyd quite badly and wished he hadn't, so who knows.

I kind of take these tales as true, simply because they're not actually coming from Ianto fangirls, just generic fangirls who happened to end up at Gareth's room party. Their constant referral to him as "Ianto from Torchwood" tells me they didn't actually know him very well as a celeb, or they'd be tweeting about "GDL" and assuming everyone knew who they were talking about, which they clearly didn't. Judging from their tweets before the party, they're just more generic Dragon Con groupies, certainly not Torchwood fen.

Yeah, me too, that's really the only part of the story that makes me wish for pics. Draco and Ianto together? That would be amazing. Is the rest true? Meh, I'm not bothered either way. People, especially drunk people, can easily think it would be hilarious to tweet something like this for the lulz, but OTOH if you treat someone like a rockstar, then you can't be surprised if they behave like a rockstar. The most significant thing I got out of reports of GDL's panels at D*C is all the info on upcoming work, including something coming out of D*C itself.

Was there ever a doubt that this was going on? I usually refer to GDL as a "con-slut" just in terms of sheer numbers he attends, but the suspicion has always been that the other meaning could apply as well. I honestly can't fault the guy for getting as much as he can, if the fangirls are gonna give it up on a platter, or at least a sink.

I feel a little bad for the fiancee, assuming they don't have some kind of arrangement along the lines of "con-sex doesn't count and just don't bring home any diseases."

I'm also amused at the t-shirt, since it basically reinforces what I've felt ever since last year's Comic-con, which is that GDL knows damn well he's gotten his current level of popularity because of J/I and he will never, ever let anyone forget about it.

I read that the shirt was a gift. Personally, I LOVED Ianto, and GDL's talents portraying him, while I never really cared that much for Jack/Ianto. So I, at least, am someone who hasn't taken to him because of that ship, and I know there are many others. I can actually imagine he's quite keen on people forgetting about it just a little bit. Cons are pretty much his only source of income at the moment, so I think he's caught between wanting to do them for the cash and the adulation and the chicks and the booze and wanting to get the fuck away from Ianto already.

I like how the internet - and now twitter - are turning the tables, a bit, on The Boys, who'd usually prefer a 'what happens at the party stays at the party' situation (because of the fiance obvious reasons), giving The Girls a chance to tell their side of it to all who're interested. (I know a few years ago there was a website dedicated to 'The Rock Star Experience.'
