Okay, so...

My Who theory is this:

River is the astronaut, she's got to be, there's too many coincidental things about her being in prison, apparently somewhat willingly, and her being, you know, dressed as an astronaut the first time we met her.

My more controversial theory is that River is Amy and Rory's child from the future. Watch this space. Srsly. The big reveal isn't that she's his wife, which she probably is, but that's hardly news, but that she's Amy and Roary's bebbi.

As you were.

I would be like "is that it?" cos I don't really care who she is related to. POOR ME.

I am totally with you on the astronaut. It couldn't be anyone else.

Hadn't thought of the Baby Williams angle, but I'll buy it.

My problem with the astronaut is that she says when she first met the doctor as a child he knew all about her. So it doesn't work, although I do agree that it is definitely her that shoots him as she says she is in prison for killing a good man.

I like your theory, except that River is clearly a 51st century person, so it means Amy and Rory get stuck there, which I think would be odd.

I don't know, I feel meh about it, killing the doctor off just left me cold.

I think that sounds a bit dark even for Stephen Moffat. I can't imagine him having Amy and Rory separated from a baby. Mind you I think killing the doctor is pretty extreme, so you never know.

I'll be shocked if she *isn't* the astronaut. Hadn't considered the Amy-Rory-baby factor, but it could be.

Unless the baby is the child of Silence (since (IIRC & from only one viewing) Amy bends over with discomfort after White House restroom incident)?

Right now, I don't really care. This first ep didn't grab me at all, and at this point, the only character I care about is Rory. Hopefully I'll regain at least some of my like of Eleven and River from last season.

I also think River is the astronaut. I just don't know about the baby-angle. I love River though, so I hope it's all it's being built up to be.

Although time-based stories scare me (being trapped in another timeline), I'm pleased they are using time, because the Doctor was becoming like a tour-guide, just travelling wherever anyone wanted to go.

My favorite useless theory is that she's actually Jack made female after years of evolving into a better human being. The hair kinda looks like Boe's tent/test-icles, yeah? It's a good transitional phase :)

But I totally agree shoots the Doctor. Whenever any character in the Whoniverse gets all evasive about someone's identity, it's him, ergo the Doctor is the Good Man. I think the little kid face is some sort of perception filter. How does a body that small move around in a suit that size?

What I'm most interested in is the origin of her Vortex Manipulator. I still think she sliced it off Future!Jack's arm. I'd love it if that happened during his missing two years, but I'm beginning to doubt we'll ever learn what happenen then.

I reckon she is a time agent. Although I don't know, would the doctor approve enough to marry her then?

I think Jack's past has been rewritten, he is now an American who was made immortal by the Tardis, that bit will have to stay for the plot of the new series to work. I doubt we will ever here more of any other background thing, including the missing years.

I think the pregnancy is a red herring, the confession brought on by the Silents forgetting and stomachache/nausea. Otherwise why would River get it too? Unless mama's nausea in the past somehow affects baby in the future. Or if River's pregnant.

I too think it's River in the suit. Unless it's the Doctor. But I don't think the little girl is her. Wrong accent.
