It's MATTURDAY! As much as I love Eleven/Craig because it's beautiful, part of me just sort of wishes it was next week already.

(No, that's not because of that whole outfit that Rory has going on next week. Well, no, okay, maybe it is. A bit. Those specs turned me, I tell you.)

I think it's because I want fucking CLOSURE on this storyline already. As much as I've enjoyed this season, I kind of want it to be over, just so I can KNOW whether or not I need to be angry about it or whether my fears are totally misplaced and Moff's got it all under control. I JUST NEED TO KNOW NOW WHETHER OR NOT I AM ENRAGED.

I agree. I've been enjoying everything ep to ep, but have been saying to someone that I really hope this season is still good in retrospect.

I'm so scared that the story isn't going to play out the way I was hoping it would, and that this whole "well, she turns out okay in the end and you sort of raised her by growing up with her" thing really IS Moff's idea of a perfectly adequate and happy enough end for a young couple whose newborn baby was kidnapped and brainwashed. The attitude of the young couple in question isn't exactly helping me put those fears to rest. So, yeah, I sort of just want it to be over so I know already whether or not I should be hating the resolution.

I keep thinking the Doctor is going to have brought them Mels to 'raise' growing up, which I don't know if will end up better or worse than a non-explanation or non-resolution.

I really can't see how they can change it so they did raise the baby, seeing as how the brainwashing and the childhood with them as Mel made River into what she is today.

Changing your own time stream, and like that.

If they don't give Amy and Rory their baby in the end, that will be why.

I know, but I'm still not 100% convinced that the River we know from today isn't necessarily a different River to the Mels/River we met in LKH. Or that if time were rewritten, River would necessarily be rewritten because she has a Time Head like the Doctor and he never gets rewritten whenever he rewrites time, which he does a lot.

The best I am hoping for is River being given to her parents as a babby and NOT unhappening all her episodes because of her timehead. Or the River we know from Before Let's Kill Hitler IS in fact the River that was given to her parents and she learned the sonic making from Amy and the roundhouse kicks from Rory and it's all been a bait and switch.

I don't think so, not much has happened with Melody or River since LKH that would greatly impact anything that's happened to anyone else since, has it? I don't know, there's TOO MUCH timey wimey woth Moffat now, I don't have a clue how to resolve this because I no longer understand what's going on. And I'm reasonably intelligent, or so I like to believe.

Considering the apparent inevitability of his death, unhappening River to a certain extent seems to be the only way out of it. But I personally think she will be unhappened and then turn out to have been the unhappened one all along in S4 and 5. Or something.

She did have a totally different childhood back in the season opener, where she'd met the Doctor when she were a young girl.

Exactly, she said she'd met him as a young girl and he knew all about her, I don't think she's referring to the events of her life as we know them from LKH. I think she IS the one raised by Amy and Rory, which is why we've had all these unreal/rewritten hints of how superhuman and awesome and River-like both Amy and Rory have the potential to be, I think it's to set us up to believe that the River we know could totally be a product of their upbringing.

I really hope something timey wimey is going to happen with River as well. Something positive. As for the Doctor trying to undo everything so that Amy and Rory can have Melody, I can see that happening. But it would change a lot of things. It might even make it so that her name isn't Melody, and that Rory and Amy never got together. But if that happens, I'm sure it won't be that drastic. I definitely don't think River would be okay with that.
In A Good Man Goes to War, I was under the impression that the reason River couldn't come until the very end was because she couldn't interact with her own time stream. But seeing as she is in the astronaut suit, there will be two Rivers in the same place at the same time.
