Haha SPOILERS DON'T READ

In Russell's world, bumsex with Russell Tovey pretty much fixes all your emo manpain, no matter how vast, yeah?

That's pretty faily right there. Not as faily as that thing with Martha and you know who, but still pretty fucking offensively faily. As was that thing with Donna. Wow, that's a lot of fucking fail to heap upon an awful lot of companions.

DON'T LET THE DOOR HIT YOUR ASS RUSSELL.

Also, did Simm just disappear, never to be mentioned again, or did it just seem that way?

Midshipman Frame is pretty awesome though. Perhaps it's just a meaningless shag for Jack to try and blot out his man!pain. Or just a quick sweeping under the carpet of any kind of emotional fallout. It does indicate that the Doctor had some knowledge of what went on in CoE, and thought Jack needed a "new piece of ass" to help him get over it.

Anyone want to write some fic about the Captain and the Midshipman roaming across space and having sexytiems until the Midshipman dumps him for being a cock?

WTF! Martha and Mickey? Married? Oh Rusty you are a hoot, and you have such control over your characters to rewrite their canon history. Your powers are awesum, Mr Davies!

And Donna, so her head wouldn't really 'splode then? So what the hell was all that DOOM shit about her not being able to remember him at all, ever, ever again. At least she got married to a nice bloke, in what looked like the same wedding dress from her first appearance.

You really wonder why he bothered to put all the crap in at the end about the Doctor seeing all his old "mates" - what did it serve?

The Master is still there for Moffat to pull him out as a handy plot device if he cocks up royally.

My Dad, who hasn't really watched new Who, said that it had to be the longest goodbye in history.

I do kinda love that in all this Rusty managed to work in his hard on for Russell Tovey. I don't think Tovey would touch him with a 1,000 meter cock, but dammit, if he didn't get to establish that his character is omni and willing. Now Tovey can go back to the actually good show that he's on...

[identity profile] erinnthered.livejournal.com 2010-01-01 08:56 pm (UTC)(link)
I missed that! This is what I get for not getting UK news. I just heard him going on about him once, and other sources seemed to confirm he had the hots for Tovey. Poor Russell Tovey. I'm sure he'd like to be appreciated for his talent.

Why couldn't the other Russell move to LA? Gah!

[identity profile] coldwater1010.livejournal.com 2010-01-01 09:09 pm (UTC)(link)
Yeah his hard on for Russell is pretty - well - hard if his book is any indication. heh! If RTD manages to get him on to Torchwood I think even Gwen might lose her place as the favoured child.

More money? Jack's awesome cock? I don't know?

[identity profile] erinnthered.livejournal.com 2010-01-02 03:29 am (UTC)(link)
Wait...did he write about Russell Tovey in that Writer's Tale thing? Do share!

[identity profile] caledonius72.livejournal.com 2010-01-01 09:03 pm (UTC)(link)
For Rusty, as Mr Tovey is a single homosexual, he had more of a chance for Mr Tovey to reciprocate than Mr David-Lloyd. If i were Midshipman Frame, I'd have a roll in the hay with Jack, and then head off. Everyone in the future has a fluid sexuality and will shag anything, dontchaknow?

YAY, a new series of Being Human is on soon.

What do you know, you've hit on the main reason that Ianto lasted for three seasons! Don't believe me? Read Russell's book.

[identity profile] erinnthered.livejournal.com 2010-01-02 03:31 am (UTC)(link)
No!

But share anyway. :)

Actually, I'm hoping it doesn't come to that, but I may end up skimming it at some point if I get a rec from a writer I trust. He is successful showrunner in the UK...bastard.

[identity profile] teamharkness.livejournal.com 2010-01-02 04:14 am (UTC)(link)
It's sad, but it's true. I had my ex-girlfriend read it in Forbidden Planet because she didn't believe it. It's there; sad, but it's there.

[identity profile] erinnthered.livejournal.com 2010-01-02 05:17 am (UTC)(link)
But what is there? Did he literally say that Ianto lasted for three seasons because RTD thought he was hot? Are you sure he wasn't being sarcastic?

[identity profile] coldwater1010.livejournal.com 2010-01-02 05:59 am (UTC)(link)
He didn't say that although my impression was he did fancy him quite a bit. He did say, I'm assuming jokingly somewhat, that he thinks one of the reasons he likes to write scenes for hot guys is to get them to like him and he writes about Gareth specifically in that context. Every time he mentioned Gareth he mentioned how hot or sexy he thought he was much like with Tovey, whose arse he was particularly fascinated with. That just seemed to be a thing with him whenever he mentioned anything about the guys who've appeared on his shows, like James Marsters, he usually mentioned how sexy, hot etc. they were.

[identity profile] teamharkness.livejournal.com 2010-01-02 04:36 pm (UTC)(link)
When have you ever known RTD to be truly sarcastic? He actually said that if he kept Ianto around, maybe Gareth would sleep with him. Not sure if he was being cheeky, but ... all the same. if it applies to Russell Tovey, it applies to Gareth as well.

[identity profile] coldwater1010.livejournal.com 2010-01-04 04:13 pm (UTC)(link)
I don't know RTD well enough to tell whether he was joking or not. I know I was being tongue in cheek and I'm giving him the benefit of doubt by assuming he was at least half joking and/or just being a little bit too fanboyish with regards to his crushes because otherwise he's just some slimy creep who has no qualms about abusing his position. And even if he wasn't joking that still says more about him and the kind of character he is than it does about Gareth and his abilities or the viability of the character he played. The fact that RTD may be guided by his penis is his issue not the actors he hires. And if I take his comments seriously then it definitely puts another spin on his decision to get rid of the character in s3.

I thought it'd never end. Keep wishing they get onto the regeneration.

[identity profile] caledonius72.livejournal.com 2010-01-01 08:58 pm (UTC)(link)
Yep - I was going "this is all very well, and i know you didn't get the chance to do stuff like this when Eccleston left, but WHERE'S THE BEEF?"

I considered skipping over it. Apparently, regeneration can be dormant long enough to put all of your affairs in order, despite 9 (10, if you count the S4 finale one) examples to the contrary.
