ONE FROM THE ROAD...

Why does shit always go down in a week when I leave the country?

See, the thing about a certain faction of fans is that they seem to equate Gareth's stated love of working on Torchwood with a stated desire to stay on Torchwood for any length of time.

Having said that, spoiler make me do sadfayce, even though I'd been predicting and expecting it. :(

I now give spoiler about 97% certainty. *sniff*

(Edit to clarify, no, Gareth hasn't said anything, though, in true Gareth style, he didn't exactly NOT say anything either. I am referring to a lovely holiday-style time I spent reading and researching spoilers on the OG, where about three seperate sources are now citing having read and even seen spoiler play out on screen. Bum.)

Edit to add quickly before I swan off: Not that I'm going to say I told you so or anything. I would never do that.

'Yes, killing off more than half of the cast, in what would be the space of six episodes (or less), does seem a mind-numbingly stupid move for an ensemble show.'
Not to mention most people's reactions would probably be 'Oh look, they killed off ANOTHER character. What else is on?'. You can only kill of so many characters until people just stop caring.

'The Jack And Gwen Show - but, yeah, I don't think that show would have any staying power.'
Yeah, one of the things I've always found interesting about Ianto is that we don't know a lot about him, but what else is there to learn about Gwen; we've already met her parents, met her friends, found out how she and Rhys met and seen her angst over cheating on Rhys.

I'm sure they'll have new cast members, but it would be ridiculous to kill off Ianto (unless of course he wants to leave) but... in that case, his character doesn't have to die. He could come back periodically, as Martha does.

"We see enough death."

Yes. Hello. Enough death!
