tencrush: (ianto pie)

I'm wrong in the head.

It's wrong of me to just be pausing through this new trailer, cursing the fact that there's not enough Ianto in it for me to properly assess the pie situation?

Actually, that wasn't hugely spoilery, was it? I didn't actually learn any more than I already learned from the set reports. The production values look quite good, but I'm sensing a frisson of shite in there somewhere, mostly coming from John Barrowman's facial expressions. Oh, and Ianto gets to have man on man kissing AND exposition dumping with his sister (I'm assuming that was his sister) who thinks he's a civil servant? Pardon me while I tick off the appropriate "impending death" boxes over here. If out of those "two and three" who got away, Ianto is indeed "three" and not "two", than he's definitely dead by the end of the episode. I would actually find it hugely entertaining if it turned out that Ianto was "two", I really don't know why. In fact, I think the question of which one is two and which is three is going to be my biggest thing when watching this. I get the feeling I may need the distraction. So, yeah. There's children and explosions. Wooo... big news.

Still no clue about when the hell it's on, though. Arsewipes.

1) If series 4 doesn't return to its standard 13 episodes - and even JB isn't yet convinced that it will, which is interesting - Gareth would be at a loose end for 8 months out of 12, plenty of time to have another long-term project.

2) The person who first started the rumour about Ianto dying in series 3, said that a member of the film crew had told her. Now I don't know about film crew who are at the bottom of the ladder of authority but those at the top certainly wouldn't go around giving out big spoilers. Even the death of Tosh didn't get out until just 2 weeks before Exit Wounds aired and that came via a James Marsters website. Also, she said that she couldn't say on the forum itself whether it would be Ianto or Rhys because her 'friend' would know it was her who'd leaked the info. Well I'm quite sure that her friend would know it was her anyway.

3) If Ianto was killed off in series 3, the writers would be repeating themselves at the start of S4 - ie let the team get over the deaths of Owen and Tosh in series 3 and then repeat the situation all over again with Ianto in series 4.

I'm still 50/50 regarding Ianto's death.

It seems like a waste for S3, but I wouldn't bet against it for S4. :(

Don't forget the importance for keeping Ianto around in the books--who else could they get to turn into a woman or be a choirboy?? (He gets some of the most interesting plots...)

That poster, williamsalan, also told the Doctor Who fans that his reliable source/friend told him that Ross would be back in "Turn Left", so I wouldn't hold that guys word to mean much.

Thnaks for that, I feel a little better now :), even if Ianto's death is still a small possibility - RTD likes his angst.

I actually think Ianto is safe for series 3 now that I've heard about Jack's daughter. I think the whole 'sacrifice' thing will be about family rather than the team.
