And now... a quiz!

TORCHWOODIAN FANNISH VENNISH DIAGRAM, INSTALLMENT THE FIRST:

Gwack and Janto fangirls in venn-diagrammatic form.

QUESTION ONE: Using the following supposition, find a value for A, B, C and D.

Supposition:

Jack/Gwen shippers like to pretend that John Barrowman is just a little bit straight. For them.

[Poll #1330387]

QUESTION TWO:
IS HERE

I can't vote on the second poll!
*weeps*

Also, I am shit at maths, and things like this, so it looks like I got it all wrong!

Not voting n the second poll mostly because I think there just shouldn't be people who are not attracted to JB and I guess there are less people attracted to GDL than to JB and I think that because I believe everyone is secretly attracted to JB, then A makes sense while the other do not. Also, shipping Jack/Gwen is just stupid, so...
I lost the point, sorry.

(Also, I hope you don't mind me friending you or commenting or sth ;O)

John Barrowman is attractive. The point of fandom and AU is so that you can play out your fantasies and live through them. Whilst I don't ship Jack/Gwen, I *can* see why people *do* and I would never get all ratty towards someone who did.

Jack/Gwen shippers like to pretend that John Barrowman is just a little bit straight. For them.

I'm not sure it's confined to Jack/Gwen shippers (I've met plenty of Jack/Ianto shippers with a tangible lust for teh Barrowman), but fandom for a gay man will always have a subset who fantasize they can "turn him." Some of them keep these fantasies in their heads, where they are welcome. Others (just attend a con, panto, or concert sometime) put quite a lot of effort (with, ah, varying results) into looking "hot/pretty/sexy" for JB, a man who on national television was scientifically shown as not aroused by naked female pornstars, never mind your very average fangirl.

That being said, plenty of similarly genetically ungifted fans do the same for Gareth. I would say they have no chance, since he's hot and his gf is rather pretty, but then all bets are off if he's had some booze. Never know who he will snog.

I think a lot of just people ship various pairings because the pretty imagery gets 'em off, too.

I think the supposition's probably true for some of the overly vocal whackjobs, but they don't equal all Jack/Gwen shippers any more than the overly vocal whackjobs on the Jack/Ianto side equal all Jack/Ianto shippers.

I HAVE WRITTEN EXAMNS THAT WERE EASIER

Somehow or other, I think I cracked it! And I totally suck at these. Who knew?

Dude, circle C needs to be a whole lot bigger. Which makes bugger all sense, since Jack is infinitely more attractive and flexible than JB, but I don't make the rules. (MORE'S THE PITY!)

Both are attractive. But personally? I don't do the whole, "oh my god, maybe the celeb in question will notice me" (Used to have a job where I had to talk to celebs and yes, got to meet GDL personally thanks to his guest liasion at a con) because honestly? I like to keep the wall of illusion between me and the celeb. Much easier.

On a related note, my English student asked me to help her with geometry, at which she might possibly be even worse than at English. She couldn't figure out the Venn diagram, which was composed of three circles reading "fish owner," "cat owner," and "dog owner." This was very frustrating. I just wanted to share.
