Journey's End... WHY?

FUCK OFF RUSSELL!

Why ruin a perfectly crackingly good episode with two minutes of the gheyest most pointless fucking shit ever seen on TV?

I loved that episode, then I did a rather large sick in my mouth, then I loved it again. Can someone re-edit that for me so I can watch it again? Just cut out a minute and a half, and I'll be fine with it.

Would you mind using a cut please? I'm desperate not to be spoiled.

Out of curiousity, what 2 minutes are you referring to?
I'm just pissed that they ignored the opportunity for naked Jack ;-)

Thanks, it was an accident. I opened Opera and it went to the last page I'd been on, my flist.

There were moments when I loved it and moments where I, well, REALLY didn't. D:

Ugh yes.

Still, maybe this time when they say 'stranded in an alternate universe' they'll mean it.

I feel polluted.

I'm just going to focus on Jack's "I can't tell you what I'm thinkin' right now" which made me jump up and down with happy.

Russell gave the Doctor a parting gift: the chance to have to one adventure he could never have. The man is such a fucking romantic. <3 <3 <3

I'm glad Ianto was shown to be more than just Jack's thing on the side. Gwen may have had bravado, but Ianto had the brains and knowledge of Tosh's awsome program, and he also knew how to open the rift manipulator. So, yay! Ianto and yay! Gwen

if that was a gift to anyone, it was a gift to rose, really, not the doctor...each individual element of the 'threefold man' was its own separate entity, and achieved its own sentience after being split off from the 'original'. (that's how i read it, anyway) therefore, the doctor himself isn't living a life with rose; a creature created from the union between him and donna is living that life, while the lonely god goes ever on alone in the universe.

[identity profile] kateorman.livejournal.com 2008-07-06 03:24 am (UTC)(link)
Heh. He gets to both give the Doctor that happy ending AND TAKE IT AWAY FROM HIM IN THE SAME MOMENT. The man's an evil genius.

Beach thing aside, did you also notice that there was severe less pie with our dear Ianto? Were those two eps filmed at the same time???

I only ask b/c I noticed less chin and my (ever-oblivious) fiance' noticed less tummy bulge.

Hmmmmmm....

I'm not sure how I feel about Martha and Mickey on Torchwood. I really don't want to see Torchwood become a dumping ground for Dr Who characters, but I don't want to see 'new' characters take screen-time away from the main cast either.

[identity profile] fevervignettes.livejournal.com 2008-07-06 08:12 am (UTC)(link)
Yeah. That was nearly the highlight for me.

The weight did seem to jump up and down again.

while we're editing, can we cut the insulin shock kumbaya/group hug/cheesy music interlude as well?

i really don't want the mickey & martha show on TW. both have the same grating act-like-i'm-reading-an-autocue voice and as we all know, the PTB at TW can't write for ensembles for shit; so why increase the cast count to a number we know they can't handle?

then again, with only 5 Eps, how much more can they screw it over.

but the important stuff now, Tennant, no shirt... GDL, no shirt DW S5 maybe? where's the defabricator when you need it.

Then we would have missed Donna shoving Sarah Jane out of the way to get to Jack. And that was a highlight of the episode for me!

[identity profile] cionaudha.livejournal.com 2008-07-07 04:15 am (UTC)(link)
Okay, so that wasn't just me?

It must have been just the lighting then, making him more pie-ish? Because surely they filmed the Ianto & Gwen scenes at one go.

NOT THAT JACK WOULD NOTICE, THE NON-NOTICING S.O.B. /bitter

Jack, seriously: ask him about his day.

[identity profile] cionaudha.livejournal.com 2008-07-07 04:19 am (UTC)(link)
I'm ambivalent as well. I like them, but I'd prefer to see entirely new characters in the Hub.

[identity profile] cionaudha.livejournal.com 2008-07-07 04:24 am (UTC)(link)
Rusty lost me at the multiple quick-fixes right at the beginning. Don't leave me screaming in cliffhangery anguish one week just to solve everything before the opening credits.

Way to make NOTHING of Gwen and Ianto's sacrifice. *scowl*

Was I wrong to hope for Jack to end up back at the Hub, BECAUSE HE GIVES A FUCK ABOUT THEM MAYBE, and for Ianto to give him a hero's welcome? Jack wandering off in the park, WTF?

[identity profile] love-jackianto.livejournal.com 2008-07-07 04:30 am (UTC)(link)
Yeah, I hoping that if Martha and Mickey come to Torchwood it's only as temporary characters in mini-series 3 until new characters can be brought in properly in series 4. With three ex-companions as main characters Torchwood could easily become all about the companions with Gwen and Ianto (Ianto even more so) getting pushed to the background.

[identity profile] fevervignettes.livejournal.com 2008-07-07 04:36 am (UTC)(link)
Yeah, I commented on the weight in Stolen Earth, because he looked like he had gained A LOT OF WEIGHT, and then in Journey's end, it looked fixed again, so I thought I was imagining it until I read your comment.

(I haven't been able to watch season 2 of Torchwood yet. *SIGH*)

[identity profile] fevervignettes.livejournal.com 2008-07-07 04:36 am (UTC)(link)
Yeah, that made me way way happy.

[identity profile] cionaudha.livejournal.com 2008-07-07 02:55 pm (UTC)(link)
(I haven't been able to watch season 2 of Torchwood yet. *SIGH*)

*gasp*

So you haven't seen the source of that inspirational icon of yours? This is tragic!

[identity profile] fevervignettes.livejournal.com 2008-07-07 03:21 pm (UTC)(link)
It is ABSOLUTELY tragic.

I watched the first season of Who and then switched to Torchwood. When Jack got snatched, I decided to watch his Doctor Who episodes before switching back, which required me to watch season two, and then season three. And then everyone was raving about season four and I was determined to get caught up by the finale, and.......here I am. Missing my Torchwood enormously.

Of course, since Who is done for now, I can return home to my lovelies gladly.
