Yes. Yesyesyesyes. THAT is my issue. He's said, even before this season started, that Jack NEEDS him, and I HAVEN'T seen that played out on screen. I can see that Jack LIKES him, I can even fanwank that Jack LOVES him, but I haven't had more from Jack than an impression that this is just a convenient relationship for him. I would have taken ANY hint, in ANY episode that Jack NEEDS Ianto around for more than naked hide and seek. I really haven't seen that.
