I can't help but notice, reading my spanky new TW novels, that of the set of novels about to come out The Undertaker's Gift, Risk Assessment and Consequences, Consequences doesn't actualy have an author listed and is actually described as "featuring stories by writers for the hit series created by Russell T Davies for BBC Television, including Joseph Lidster and James Moran, plus Andrew Cartmel, David Llewellyn and Sarah Pinborough"

Now, I'd vaguely heard about this, but the inclusion of James Moran is new to me. I know Andrew Cartmel is being bandied around as having written a TW S4 script, but I'm starting to wonder if this story collection isn't just a bunch of abandoned S4 scripts retold in novella length. Anyone know of the story titles or any more info on what the hell is actually in the Consequences collection?

Maybe it's S4 scripts that had to be abandoned once RTD decided to break the show (who me, bitter?)

Well, yeah, that's why I'm wondering. Mostly because Cartmel has never been involved in TW before, and now he's listed as writing BOTH a script and a short story in Consequences? It seems like a bit much to me, so I'm wondering if those two things are the same story. And James Moran? He's a scriptwriter, surely?

I wonder. It would be cool if the book came out in script form. I suppose that, as they commission more scripts than there are episodes every series, it could be left over scripts from series one and two.
I read all the books as they come out and really like some of them. Does anyone out there know any journals or places where there is meta or discussion or anything good and interesting about the books?

I don't think Sarah Pinborough writes scripts, i think she only writes stories.

The collected short story thing has worked well with DW - the whole "Short Trips" thing.

I guess it's a collection of one-shots - LOL

I swear to God, if Moran's story is another one of those let's-overcompensate-for-their-onscreen-indifference-towards-each-other-by-injecting-semicanonical-girlie-romantic-schmaltz jobs, then that guy really did deserve that grief he allegedly got, whatever it may have been.

Nah, nothing's been said about anything, and that Cartmel script rumour's been around for months now.

I've even heard that it was actually a S3 spec script, before the series got cut down to 5. So who knows.

Thanks. From what I've heard Eve wants to take a year off to be with her baby, so if Gwen is as big a part of S4 that the writers keep saying she is, it going to be a while.
