Well god dammit, if they do actually kill Ianto I hope they do it in a way that makes me cry so hard that I need to replace half my living room furniture due to water damage. I'd be REALLY pissed off if they do it and it's so sucky that it doesn't even get a good reaction out of me. But dammit, I really hope they don't do it so soon. Maybe I could see them doing in at the end of season 4, but I don't think his character and the Jack/Ianto relationship has been explored enough yet, nor do I think 5 episodes is enough time to properly do it in either. In fact I'm worried that if he does die in s3 all the backstory and relationship exploration we get will just be a rushed exposition-dump before they get rid of him. Which I think would be the ultimate injustice to his character.
And as others have stated, I have very little interest in the Jack and Gwen show. Of course they would bring in new cast members too but I think with Ianto gone the temptation to do Jack/Gwen would be too strong for the writers to resist and it's really just a horrible, horrible idea. AND I'D MISS IANTO.
