Yeah, you know I'd almost forgotten how rotten he was about Spike John in KKBB, and I felt like he was kind of a big dick about it (even though Spike William John was probably a bad man). Like, he spent five meaningful years in a monogamous relationship with John, but in the end dismissed their relationship as "just two weeks."

Even though I don't know if I have the biggest problem with the orientation/gender issues, I would definitely consider that info as a supporting evidence to your theory.
